Derek’s grief around the plane crash was understated I think. Mark and Lexie were both siblings to him. They could’ve really gone in with his guilt surrounding Mark and how their relationship was bad at the end, but I feel like they focused more on Callie’s grief

No one really grieved her death. Like it was so weird. Everyone seemed okay. I really thought it would mean more to the show. I feel like they killed them off so quick too. And I don’t think Mer should’ve just left her sister to go look for Derek maybe it was the shock

@@0neAmongBillions I think you’re right but they didn’t have to kill her. Like the actress who played Christina wanted to leave and they gave her a nice ending without death. But I guess the writes wanted to truly build off of Lexi and Mark departure. With Christina they couldn’t really do much except for drop her name occasionally a few episodes after.

I love how protective and mentor like Derek is of Lex, he just takes her under his wing cause he’s had four baby sisters and it’s second nature to him. And she’s in awe of him but there are times she gets spunky and yells at him when he acts dumb. Their friendship is underrated 😍😍😍

When I look back at the plane crash they could have shown a lot of character development mentally with Derek in regards to Mark and Lexi. They also could have shown a lot more of Derek’s life . They could’ve shown his family being there for him after the plane crash or being there for Meredith after his death. I know Derek had a lot of sisters but only one of them was there for Meredith

The thing is shows like this are doomed to lose in the long run because no matter how much character development or relationships are established in the plot, there will be misunderstandings between the actors and directors and writers, and of course the actors will eventually look for greener pastures. The only reason this show is still alive right now is because Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. have dedicated their life to it. Their whole lives.

I always wonder what would happen if Lexie didn't die, but instead just move to another state to do her residency/fellowship. I would always wish they didn't kill Lexie and just let her move to another place because of an amazing opportunity she can't easily back out on, like what happened with Penny and the Preminger Grant Research thing. So that she could come back as someone who is alive, like Cristina, and Izzie.

I don't care. Derek and Lexie's friendship their whole relationship is underrated. And still even after season 17 I believe Chyler Leigh left very early. I believe she should have left around season 10 or season 12
