Live from Basel's popular AVO SESSION festival (now known as Baloise Session) on October 22, 2011, Portland, Oregon's "little orchestra" Pink Martini plays their original instrumental showpiece, "The Flying Squirrel", written by bandleader Thomas M. Lauderdale and Pink Martini trombonist Robert Taylor. Not featured on any studio album, the song is a highlight of the band's live shows, where it features several of the band's talented instrumentalists in solos. Featuring Jeffrey Budin on trombone, Gavin Bondy on trumpet, Dan Faehnle on guitar, Phil Baker on bass, and Brian Davis on drums. This performance is a special delight, with lead singer Storm Large heading into the audience to dance with the fans.

Great Music & Dancing from Pink Martini as always😍 The distinguished gentleman dancing with Storm was the one & only Avo Uvezian, Pianist, Composer, Cigar Manufacturer, and Connoisseur!! His famous line of Avo Cigars are part of the Davidoff Line, purchased from Avo in the mid-'90s for $10mill. I had the lovely privilege of meeting, being charmed by, chatting, smoking Avo Cigars, listening as He tickled the ivories, and dancing with Him in 2010 at a Dominican Republic Rooftop Restaurant while on a Davidoff Cigar Tour for Retailers😘It's one of those nights that will always bring Me great Joy & Gratitude!! A warm, charismatic, gracious, talented, visionary & happy Man who sadly went Home in 2017💜

I met Avo Uvezian [it's the elderly gentleman with a straw hat, dancing with Storm Large] once while I was vacationing in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. He was having dinner in a posh restaurant, as was I. I recognized him instantly from his pictures in the Cigar Aficionado Magazine, and since he was wearing his traditional white suit and flat top buff, straw hat. Being a fellow Armenian, I walked to his table and started talking to him in Armenian. I knew he could speak Armenian because he had immigrated from Lebanon, just like me, and Armenian is almost like a second language there. He was very pleasantly surprised to meet a fellow Armenian and chat with him in his mother tongue. At that time, I was a cigar smoker and a cigar connoisseur so we had a long conversation together on the subject. He was a very charming, gracious, classy gentleman, the kind of which is slowly disappearing.
