@@heavenlyhannits based on the William Shakespeare's play Hamlet. A character in the play named 'Ophelia' who drowns in a lake from madness. In the case of the song, someone else kills PP.

@@nicoplayzeverything6092my take on the song is that she’s comparing the feeling of falling in love with dying. the person who is killing her is a metaphor for the person stealing her heart. and her dying/drowning is a metaphor for her falling deeper into hopeless love.

the water splash sound before and after the verse about double checking if she's dead, like he's taken her out the tub and shoved her back in when he realizes she's still alive. the way the lyrics get chopped up as the song ends and the bubbling/sinking? sounds like her life and consciousness is slipping away. it's all so beautifully done!! it's so dreamy sounding if you ignore the lyrics but adds to the eerie charm when you don't. my favorite on the album by far 🤍

ok im jc if im alone in this but to me this song feels like an analogy or metaphor for dissociation. i listened to this song while i was dissociating and it clicked how much it fits in that context. its hard to explain to anyone who hasnt experienced dissociation, but it is that dreamy kind of feeling, like nothings real, and like its hard to speak or move sometimes, it feels like im just a shell of a person. and this song captures that feeling really well imo

i love this so far, love the beat, the airyness, floating fly away...and then i check the lyrics💀 BUT I STILL LOVE IT and it makes me like it even more tbh, cause the beat sounded more sentimental and kind of eerie as i hear it again
