In the tv show she revelled in how much larger and sharper the thorns were that year but also lamented that no matter what she did those pesky red flowers kept growing.

Is it me, or for a family obsessed with darkness, ghoulishness and explosives, are they Addams's more alive than half the families we see in TV shows and movies? They're certainly a lot happier and much more supportive than half the families in movies and TV shows.

Your guys Fester impression is spot on. Morticia and Gomez are actual couple goals. Seriously name another fictional couple that are so completely enamored with each other but are also loving (at least in the most loving in terms of trying to comedically kill each other) and supportive parents. Rest in Power Raul Julia, you rocked the role of Gomez. I think my favorite line in the movie is “Mr Addams, please stop calling, we don’t know where they meet!”

Actors can have great comic timing but there’s nothing quite like group comic timing which is brilliant when it’s done well.

In the series from the 60s it is actually well explained (why they do so much deadly things to other people): They can not die from those things, so they do not realize that humans are more fragile. It's just not something they seem to understand. I don't really remember what they actually were (I think Morticia was from a family of witches or vampires, something like that). The whole theme is actually that they are a family of mythical beings that moved into a human neighborhood.

Regarding the roses I believe Morticia cuts off the blooms because Gomez is allergic to roses. So she destroys them for him. I believe Morticia actually enjoys roses. Idk how many times I have watched this since the early 90s. 😂 I wanted to be Mortica as a kid but as a I aged, Wednesday became my soul character. ❤ Angelica Houston and Raul Julia are the perfect Mortica and Gomez, next to the original actors. I cannot see anyone else. They didn't hit the right spot with the family reunion, but that was my brother's favorite one. I prefered the first two but anything Addams is up my alley! ❤ Almost time to watch the originals too.

Just like the jokes have the same punchline, the third movie would’ve had the same basic premise as the first two: fester being manipulated by women for his family’s money. And just like the jokes, it would still be good.

See when saying that Gomez Nd Morticia are so romantic, people these days use that word only related to ..well... Romance and affairs of the heart but Romanticism as a movement in arts and literature in 18th century included a lot more. Basically after enlighenment had promoted classicism and realism and the rise and popularisation of science , reason and rationality as worthy pursuits, came the industrial revolution which in several ways demystified nature and dehumanised plenty of social practices so romanticism while grounded more to medievalism than classicism, acted as a counterbalancing wave towards equilibrium, glorifying nature and individualism championing in a way eccentric quirky behaviour and interests as an expression of anticomformism and individuality and yearned for the mystique and magic of folk tales, imaginative storytelling , existentialism , emphasizing stronger expression of emotions as a reafirmation of life and had also a huge fascination with death.
