I'm so glad the 67 Camaro won. Absolutely beautiful car with a good driver. Definitely a deserved win. I remember seeing this episode when I was a kid and drooling over the 67. The nostalgia is real with this one.

The guy with the vette that cried was just made his very expensive wasn't faster than a cheaper irs car haha I'm glad the underdog camaro beat him on a radial.

See that's the problem with goimg to the track is you have to jump through all these hoops and have a bunch if $ in chassis certification and an nhra card and especially now tracka are shutting down and not always open. That's why street racing is as popular as it is, streets are always open and you don't need some special card or certification to race.

Pretty sure it was more the chassis not being certified on the cobra and more the likely the net was down after the run. They tend to do that.

So its a bracket race with no dial?? I dont understand how they qualify and decide what they're gonna run is decided by the 2 guys in the booth?

After each racer makes two qualifying runs they pick the cars that group together by their quickest ets are chosen to run in their 16 or 32. It’s like running a bracket but the cars in the bracket are running flat out instead of being dialed back or sandbagging their cars.

They choose the closest field of cars possible, and give each car a 2 tenths of a second margin from the fastest time they ran. They give them that margin as a custom for when the weather changes. It also helps get rid of anyone who tries to cheat their way into the field, which a lot of racers try.
