Traveling Australia: Fraser Island is a world heritage sight. This amazing island is known as the largest sand bar in the world, it has over 100 freshwater lakes, lush rain forest growing out of the sand, crystal clear creeks and a beach over 75 miles long.
This is my second time visiting Fraser island, it was spring break for Queensland and a long holiday weekend, it was a very busy time. If you're planning to visit Fraser island, skip the holidays and school breaks if you want to miss the crowds. Also if your budget allows, book a tour in a smaller group. The large 4x4 buses cost less and look fun but can have up to 40 people, which means the tour guide/driver spends more time managing all those people and it takes away from time you'd rather spend enjoying and exploring nature. Either way it's a beautiful island and a must-see natural wonder in Australia.
