Pinning made easy: how to get a perfect alignment of the parts you are pinning (tutorial)

4 жыл бұрынIn this video I will share with you two common problems you can encounter while pinning and how to fix them. First problem is the misalignment of the holes. Second problem is the misalignment of the angle under which the holes are drilled.
I start the video with some explanation and some slides, be sure to watch this part to get a full understanding of the problems and how I fix them.
This is not a full tutorial, I skipping some steps in the pinning process, but rather a detailed explanation (mini tutorial if you wish) on solving both problems described above.

Nice video, great diagrams to explain and your solution is simple and effective. I have encountered these issues at one point or another too. One other thing to consider for larger models is creating "socket joints" that fit into one another. I use them on plastic models (Imperial Knight for reference) to swap out arms/weapons. The concept is to create one side that fits into the other and with a twist or turn will lock it into place until you want to swap it by untwisting/turning it back to disconnect. The tools you mentioned in English are: "Pin Vice": aka the manual drill that holds the drill bit. Used to make holes. "Cutters": use to cut wire or rough cutting flash/vents off models. It's handy to have "flush" cutters that are flat on one side of the cut (against the model). "Pliers": for gripping or squeezing, "flat nose pliers" are nice to hold a miniature as it should not leave a mark from teeth. In saying that, flat nose pliers may slip more readily than those with teeth or some sort of grip pattern. "Scalpel/hobby knife": self explanatory, for cutting. "Dremel": it's the name of the Product so is universally used as it's name., there are other brands of hand-drill. It's a motorised hand drill. Best used for drilling, grinding or burnishing (making grooves).
