My parents were seldom at home when I was a kid, so I babysat my siblings, and my babysitter was the TV. My parents bought home these bags and boxes of VHS tapes, old tapes they got from friends and let me put in just whatever while they were away. I saw The Omen, Satyricon, Olivier's Richard III, The Mission, The Great Race, you name it. One of the tapes had Body Double, and man, watching the peeping Tom scene just blew my 9 year old mind away. This track makes it all come back, sensual and alluring.

The name of this song, "Telescope" is just simply perfect. When he's lead over to that telescope by his buddy...Here have a look...And he bends over and looks through that eyepiece for the first time. And this music starts...it's almost like a trance.

I personally wouldn't go so far as the film was great although I did enjoy it. It didn't deserve the critical dismissal received upon its initial release although over the years it has gained some recognition.I do agree though that this song is wonderful. It really did what it set out to do in that it aided having me become more emotionally sucked in to the movie. It perfectly captures Jake's (the main protagonist played by Craig Wasson) fascination and desire he has for his neighbour as he eventually begins to become obsessed with her.

This song really does sum up the emotions of voyeurism quite well, the music is soft and pleasant like tender skin, drawing you in. The repetition creates a hypnotic state, a mood of intrigue, mischief, sensuality, and most of all the raw excitement and dizzying thrill of such an experience. Beautiful.

Definitely. Brian DePalma is one of the few directors in the business who manages to convey his own personal tastes through the exemplification of his style alone. Like the late, great Tony Scott, he radiates a real exuberance, whereupon you can nearly always detect his handwork through his utilisation of camerawork and a nearly always universally approachable soundtrack.

De Palma is the contemporary king of this genre of film making. Love his movies. And he came in the nick of time too, Hitchcock died at the end of the 70's and Brian De Palma filled the niche nicely. It was pretty cool hearing this piece of music in the opening credits in episode 5 of Julia Roberts new series 'Homecoming.' It fit in perfectly with the atmosphere of the series. In an earlier episode, they even had the music from the shower scene from 'Dressed to Kill.' It's those pieces of music you can never forget. We know which movie they're from, what scene they were used in and we love it. They also had the prom music from 'Carrie' in one of the episodes as well. Thanks Pino for creating some memorizing music! Both are haunting, beautiful and unforgettable.

Its 2019 and saw this movie for the first time today. Although the plot was ridiculous i was very captivated and instantly fell in love with it. So Weird Watching dennis franz in anything other than die hard that you sort of expect him to say “Mcclane” at some point😂 But anyhow this musical piece is amazing!!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This takes me back to the 1980s. While my teen years was in the 1990s, the 1980s was tween (pre-teen) years.

I was 15...fell hypnotically in love with Deborah Shelton thanks in large part to this piece of music. It actually annoyed me when Melanie Griffith showed up.
