Tom, you can ctrl+click on the names of the bridges on the list that were valid and then once they’re all open in separate tabs, go through the separate tabs. You can navigate tabs with ctrl+tab, close them with ctrl+W, open new ones with ctrl+T and go to the search bar with ctrl+L. You can also directly search up the names of the bridges by highlighting the name, right clicking and then clicking “search in new tab”. These could drastically improve your workflow.

Quick tip when searching in the US and Canada that would have made your New Orleans guess much quicker: some jurisdictions only require vehicle number plates on the back of cars (20 US states including most of the US southeast and most Canadian provinces), whereas the others (most of the American west, most of the American northeast, and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Ontario, and BC) require plates on both the front and back of cars. In the New Orleans photo, none of the vehicles had front number plates which automatically ruled out a majority of US states and made me look to port cities in the American south. Referencing which jurisdictions do and don't require front plates could have saved quite a bit of time while reading through the bridge list.

It's so fun seeing a place that I know! The Edinburgh one was obviously guessed quickly, but as soon as I saw the church and the mountain my brain was like "Oh!! We've been here!! We travelled from the opposite side of the world to visit this and it was our favourite city visited!"

I knew within 30 seconds it was probably New Orleans, French Quarter. It’s been a long time since I visited, but visual details stick in my mind. The brain is a crazy thing!

When you copy and paste something into Google to search it, there's an easier way to go around that: instead of clicking "Copy", you go down a bit and click "Search Google for ___". That way you don't have to manually open a new tab and paste it in each time!

Hit New Orleans in about 5 seconds. Being notoriously below sea level, it was a help to see the steps going up onto the sea wall.

2:19 So I started watching 10 Cloverfield Lane and the opening shot is towards this exact same spot! The twin bridges stood out for me and I remembered this image. What an interesting coincidence.

I've hiked up to Arthur's seat a few times. We didn't take the path, but went cross-country each time to climb up the sides. Soon as I saw the pic, I was pretty sure I knew where it was just based on topography (and then the city background clinched it).

The same bridge is literally my Facebook background picture lol. I just took my photo at dusk and a little closer to the water. Also as a civil engineer, I’m super impressed with how Tom is just casually dropping words like “truss” and “cantilever”

You can zoom in on streetview by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse up and down. That's also a faster way to zoom in outside of streetview.

For anyone going through a big list like the bridges, an easy technique is to ctrl/cmd-click all of the links first so you get a tab for each, then you just close them as you rule them out. Much quicker and means you don’t need to worry about losing your spot.

Regarding how you mark the text, then copy and paste to a new tab to google: you should be able to simply mark it, then click and hold the selected text and drag it to where you would usually open a new tab. Just in case you didn't know :)
