Pioneer DJ is launching its most compact, portable and flexible digital player yet: the slimline XDJ-700 rekordbox™-ready player with a touch screen, Pro DJ Link and many performance features inherited from its bigger brother, the XDJ-1000.
The XDJ-700 offers DJs and venues unparalleled set-up possibilities. Its compact size and removable stand means it's perfect for even the smallest booth or home set-up. It’s the first player at this price to feature Pro DJ Link - so DJs can share one source with up to four players or laptops. Tracks can be loaded via USB or Wi-Fi to give DJs even more choice.
The XDJ-700 is packed with features from the XDJ-1000, including Hot Cues, Auto Loops, Slip Mode and Beat Sync. The large, full-colour LCD screen gives DJs intuitive access to all the player’s features and faster browsing through a QWERTY keyboard word search. DJs can prepare their sets in rekordbox (Mac/PC) or the rekordbox app (iOS/Android) and the screen will display crucial information including wave display, Beat Countdown, Phase Meter and Key Analysis Indicator.

With all those waveforms, beatgrids, 4-beat indicators and sync, the future of DJing is just track selection and set structure, really. You have so much help to beatmatch, that it's really not a show-off skill anymore. You still need good ears and knowing when to switch songs, but since the process is now easier, the hardest task is now structuring your set and choosing the right music for the right mood. I'm not complaining: I just think DJing is slowly losing some of its technicality. Vinyl is the only format left that can let you be technical AND be creative with your tastes in tracks. But really, at the end, who cares? The crowd is busy dancing!

This may be the best DJ comment on here. Not talking down on anyone, acting holier then thou. But ya i agree, I learned on CDJ800s but I got them in like 2016 and forced myself to learn beatmatching so I could always do it by ear. But then again who cares , the art of DJing was destined to evolve and the methods of mixing have changed as well props to you though

From the looks of it, the biggest thing i noticed is this.... NONE OF THE LEVEL METERS WERE PEGGED TO THE TOP OF THEIR LED STRIPS! Wish more people understood that.

+Mac Joseph why should all controllers have/need touch screens? 1. the industry standard is STILL the CDJ-2000 (best). 2. the only premier media 'turntable' with a screen is the CDJ-2000. everything else is just a midi controller to your laptop. USE REKORDBOX come on now bro "IT'S 2015!!!!!"

I'm fine with record box, with a touch screen keyboard you don't have to jump back to your laptop or even open it. I do feel the should have the cue points on actual buttons. But they did that for more real estate on the controller. But you don't realize how much you use the keyboard. It's essential.

that's what im saying just step away from the lap top, and touch screens entirely... rekordbox analyzed files to a 3.0 usb and play off that. i use a 32gb flash and thats more than enough music for the night. 10 cue points each song and organized set lists. saves you time and the hassle of dealing with screens/laptop. i dont need more stuff in-between me and the music.

This looks awesome, but something tells me there will be problems with all the cues on a touchscreen like that. I just figure sooner or later it'll lose its sensitivity, I'd rather have real buttons.

so a lot of years later and the xdi700 is still on the shelfs for new price when can we expect an upgrade from the now more then half a decade old xdj700? kinda feels like the mid end decks just got left alone as the controller and standalone controllers took over but that leaves out the people who like 2 decks and a mixer cuz I still prefer 2 solid decks and a separate mixer over an all in one

I originally bought a pair when they first came out for cheaper than what they are now... hmmm. But I do agree that they seem to be focusing on the all-in-one decks which I'm not into.

Hey guys! Since I've seen, that there is a key lock / pitch control Option on the new 3000 flagship, I wanted to know if you could implement that in a firmware update for the other players xdjs 700 etc? It's a really simple thing and it's a pain in the a** to use Ableton everytime to bounce track in different keys. Would be highly appreciated!

Is there going to be control with Traktor in the near future, I understand it can be midi-mapped within Traktor orhopefully someone might already have a tsi file already mapped out! either way its needs control like the xdj 1000, come on Pioneer!

I feel like there should be a cdj for around the $500 usd range which isnt as good, but still has the features, just smaller lcd screens or none at all. A rebbrand of a cdj 850 that works directly with serato with a usb laptop connector would be cool. So no scratch live is needed

Hi.... I've just bought a DJM-700 and was experimenting with this roll feature. I'm confused!!! After creating a 8/1 roll sample, when i assign the roll back to a channel, i cannot use the 3 band equaliser on that roll sample! I would really like to create a loop and be able to use the 3 band equaliser on it. Am i doing something wrong? I hope you can reply to my question, it will be very much appreciated. Cheers, Andy

The cdj’s can play song from your usb but the controller’s cant, with them you just use the software from laptop with buttons and knobs.

+Deryk Moates the scrolling should be finger touch swiping style like the iphone when scrolling search for music and folders. but touching the button and turning the knob is a bit old style and time consuming when your doin fast mixing and cueing - specially if you have lots and lots of music files to search...theres style a space for upgrading this to make it perfect and it should have a built in real time sampler button. pioneer has not created a sampler on the fly while the original music playing and sampling on top of it. its always been a loop in and out sampling. its nice if the engineered dj applications is more user friendly extras. for creativity and more fun

+rorz999 at some point we need to move past 30 year old compression techniques. As a sound guy and audiophile mp3 based just doesn't cut it.

+kingkilburn Pioneer never uses FLAC for some reason, but they will have WAV and AIFF I believe. These little guys would make good 3rd and 4th deck options for adding in loops, vocals, or sound effects. But I can't see myself doing an hour long set on these little guys alone.
