Pioneer Flx 10 controller tips for Serato users!!

Decided to make this video for djs who have the flx 10 and use serato dj Pro. I've seen a bunch of reviews on it, and a lot of reviews left some small but very cool details out. So, I added in some of the helpful cool tips. If anyone discovers any more tips, drop them in the comments to help out all serato users and djs alike🤙

To get into the utilities mode on flx 10, The unit should be turned on but NOT connected to your laptop. Then, you can get into the utilities, by holding down the "back" button. There you will see auto standby, demo, talkover etc. If you're a scratch dj, put the "CR fdr cut lag to "0" and when you're done, hit back again and you'll be outside of the utitlies mode. Amazing. I have been griping that the sticker lock had vanished. I also have not managed to get the screen display to change at all. And also since adding the update. Controller has gone wild with its audio routing.

A2J, Thank you for the pointers on the FLX 10, I'm a new user to Pioneer Dj products, been a Denon Dj user for many years, I finally made the switch to Pioneer FLX-10, I'm learning the in's and out's of the controller, I have a question on how to exit or get out of using the performance pads, I tried to exit the performance pads mode by pressing the shift button but i could still hear echo and some of the other effects, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what buttons to press to exit the performance pads.

Nice video. Do you know how to go in software settings and adjust the cross fader curve? I couldn't figure it out how.

Can you get two desimals on the bpm in the jog display? I'm an old Serato head but have used Rekordbox the four last years because DDJ1000 did not support Serato. Rekordbox had tow desimals, and i love it since I like to have long transmissions between tracks.

Thx so much, but I’m not getting the same effect as urs & would love to have clean echo out on a pad rather than having to use the fix button roll. How did u get Clean Echo on a pad, was there something we couldn’t see with ur right hand on the computer?

This video is about a year old, how are you liking the board so far? My SX3 fried this weekend and its time to upgrade but sadly the sx3 is discontinued. Landed on either this or the Rane 4. Cant justify 2500 for the xdj. Thinking this may be the ticket.

How do you activate the Saved Loops? I went from the DDJ1000srt and you simply pressed Shift + Hot Cue to access your Saved Loop. Now with the FLX10, that feature doesn’t work

Why does everybody rate the rane four over this ? This is heavy stem focused, mix point focused one button tempo reset?

You just go into your settings in serato, go to dj preferences, and click the box that lets you replace a pad mode for stems👍

You get the utility tool from downloading it from the pioneer dj website.

How do you change jog wheel ring color in serato?

You can not ! The color is changing when u cuttin out the instrumental, acapella, etc…

Master output is great. I still like the output of my rane 70 mixer more than anything, but the output on this equally as good.

If you want them the same as the pioneer djm s9 or djm900’s u just need the volume gain faders to be as high as 3 oranges, and on the master level it has to be between 9-12 so blinking last orange and it will give you crisp crisp crisp sound. I learned this from an audio engineer

Gn do u have any idea if pioneer gonna let this compatible with virtual dj. If not I won't buy it .just like how they flap with the 1000 not much people buy it

My friend have one and he's about to sell it . because it's not compatible with virtual .make no sense I'll get the rane 4 it's already mapped for virtual dj

No it will never be compatible with VDJ. Put your big boy pants on and learn Serato

Make sure you have the latest version of serato, and after that make sure you go to the pioneer dj website and download the firmware update for the flex 10.

Go to your laptop, click on applications. Look for pioneer. In that folder you’ll see image transfer I believe it’s called. Upload your logo in the box that pops up. Do this while your controller is disconnected from your laptop, and serato app closed.
