Throwing myself in at the deep end for a second time. I've never airbrushed anything before so I thought I'd have a go and swing for the fence and see what happens. The content of this video and the final result is entirely down to putting the hours in watching lots and lots of youtube videos about paint and asking annoying beginner questions to Rob ‪@SwiftSlots‬ Nico ‪@slotcardude68‬ Pete ‪@trackfanstv‬ and ‪@shotgundave92584‬ - thank you guys, you did this, I just followed your advice :)

Absolutely nothing wrong with that Dave. It looks brilliant. I'd say your first attempt was a resounding success. I'd be more than happy to have that in my collection.

I really enjoy your videos. Like you, I was born in 1972 as well, the cold month of December in fact. I just got into the slot car hobby and your videos display a wealth of knowledge, building techniques, great cars and cool content in general. 👍

LOL I was born in 1944. Glad to see I am not the only one that makes small mistakes but enjoys the hobby.

Bravo Dave! You nailed it. The car looks fantastic. You also touched on the most important aspect of painting, patience is key. Look forward to all your future paint work. Because we all know, there will be more!

I would recommend the Tamiya painting stand set. It's about £25 they normally have it in Hobby craft. Holds the body well so it easier to move to spray 👍. The Bob Ross makeovers is deeply troubling 😂

Really great work. I think your masking job turned out well. I did a Legends White Kit last year and chickened out using only one color. Next up is a Jerry Titus Mustang. Pale yellow body, flat black hood.

Well done, Dave. Now all you have to do with the car is true the tyres, and tune the handling by adding small amounts of weight until it is handling like your other Legends cars.

Nicely done Dave. Learning from mistakes makes a Master. ;-) Did you wear a Mask while spraying, or was the will to spray all now with an air-brush, an air-brush-rush? 🙂

I've got the spray booth off amazon that everyone seems to have which pulls the overspray into a filter for the airbrush paints, the more solventy rattle can stuff I do outside and I have a small room / cupboard at the end of the shed I put it in to "off-gas"

@@slotr - congrats on Mini SlotR! Excellently relaxing asmrish narration, as always Dave. As a foolhardy / unknowledgeable / carefree teenager, one of my first airbrush projects was 'customising' my Boss DR110 drum machine's body with dayglo orange in our tiny bathroom with no extraction system nor facemask [original text was replaced with Letraset]: subsequently, for the next few days, my 17y.o clogged-up nose produced bright orange secretions... might explain how I turned out as an adult‽ Oh, and everything in the bathroom was dusted in a orange fluorescent coating for some time afterwards. Oops.
