49 years ago, when I was first married I made noodles. I didn't know how many eggs to use. I used a dozen! By the time I was done , I had NOODLES everywhere. On the dining room table , hanging over the edge of bowls, and anywhere else I could find! After they were dry, I put them in the freezer. They were delicious. But I did learn to not use quite so many eggs.

My grandmother was Czechoslovakian and made these noodles. You can even drop in your soup, just don't make them stiff enough to cut. They are the only ones I make. Welcome them. Also she put a tea towel over a chair and put the noodles before cutting them over the chair. When they were dryer she cut them.

I haven't made noodles in ages. How thin are your rolled. Nothing better. You did a great job making those.. Love your drying rack. Could we put them in a dehydrator to dry them? The little church my mom grew up attending and then moving back. We love singing the old hymns. This so reminds me of Sunday Service. No music just voices the whole congregation singing. Oh love that.

My friend's grandparents use to make homemade swedish noodles for her birthday. I love making homemade noodles. I learned watching my mom and grandma make noodles. They always gave me a little piece of dough to work with while they made the noodles. I always roll mine out into three separate rounds, then flour between the layers and jelly roll them in to a long roll. Then I just cut through them and that is the way I make them, just like mama did. Perfect evert time. Thanks for sharing!

My mom, now 94, used to make beautifully decorated wedding cakes. When she made white cake, she always used the yolks to make huge batches of egg noodles and freeze in meal size portions. It is still my favorite meal when I am fighting a bug to have a big pot of chicken and noodles, served over mashed potatoes. I never mastered cake decorating but still doing the noodles often.

LOVE the singing at the beginning of your video. When I have visited the local Mennonite church in San Andreas CA I have SO loved that the singing had no musical instruments. Am on my second Kitchenaid stand mixer. My mother gave me hers that she got in the late 40's and it finally gave out in 2004 which is when I got the new professional model. The company was begun around 1920. Like the pasta attachment and shredder attachments too. Having a small kitchen with less counter space so I use plastic clothes hangers hung on cupboard door handles to dry noodles. NOTHING tastes so good as homemade pasta noodles.

Oh, that music! Tessie, I just love it; I could listen to it all day. When you combine delicious homemade noodles with sweet, calming hymns... What can anyone say? "Am I in heaven?" 🙂. You really have a steady hand. You can hand cut those noodles as straight as a machine can! I can't wait to see the final products. A little bit of humor... Many years ago there was a TV show called "Candid Camera." (You're too young to remember it. 🙂) The hosts of the show played practical jokes on people (nothing really offensive or hurtful) and recorded the way people reacted to them. One time they showed film of the "Annual Spaghetti Harvest" in Italy. The show's producers had draped hundreds of strands of spaghetti over the branches of some trees (probably in Hollywood) ahead of time and recorded women dressed in old style Italian farmers' wife's garb going into the "Spaghetti Orchard" with baskets on their arms and "harvesting" bunches of spaghetti. There must have been a lot of "city folk" in the audience ( or at least people who had never seen a real farm) because it was amazing the number of people who absolutely bought the idea that spaghetti is some sort of veggie that grows on trees and needs to be picked and dried. 😀 So much for the old notions that there are "City Slickers" and "Country Bumpkins." (I guess we're almost all bumpkins in one way or another.😉) I love the way you and the family have plans to add more music to your videos. Your own singing with your daughters and the beautiful "plain singing" is going to make them even better! (I didn't think that was possible! 🙂) Blessings to you and Chevy Man.

My late Mother in Law made noodles like that. She wasn't Amish-just a country cook. She always made noodles for Thanksgiving in the turkey broth. It is my daughter's favorite. I never made them but I used to help her. I don't think she cut them but she rolled them out and tore pieces off and called them nubs.
