The 150 year old pipe organ at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, located in the historic Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, is one of the world's largest and most distinctive instruments. The organ has 11,623 pipes, 147 stops, and 206 ranks, and is made of wood and metal. It's considered one of the finest examples of American Classic organ building and has been the backdrop for many events and meetings broadcast around the world. The organ is often heard by the public during recitals, the Tabernacle Choir's weekly broadcast of Music & the Spoken Word, and other occasions.
