Thanks Jack , I like what you said about the Radice in terms of factory and artisan pipes , and Radice, Castello etc. being more of a hand made pipe rather than a typical ‘factory’ pipe, I’d include quite a few of the higher end Italian pipes (I’m a big fan of Ardor who (so I’ve read) use the best grades of briar , and like Castello age it for about ten years before carving) , or Rinaldo which is two brothers doing all the carving, silver work etc. … I seen a quote by Carlo Scotti - I don’t run a factory, I run a workshop of Artisan craftsmen.

Diplomat is my favorite cs it can sit without stand has thick bowl as I smoke little hot and also stem is bent upwards which does not touch surface when sitting and moisture flows to the bowl instead of my mouth.

I have some pipes that I smoke more than others but they are all different. Thanks for sharing brother

Im pretty young for a pipe smoker. 30. I feel like straight pipes like a billiard look a bit more fitting. Older gentleman looks more distinguished with a bent pipe or even a churchwarden. Thats just my opinion. I love pipes of all shapes and sizes lol

I have always prefer a bent shape because I’m definitely a clencher but lately I’m fascinated by the thin lovat shapes.

I’ve been smoking a pipe on and off for over 50 years and still can’t choose the shape for me . At the moment I think a short bent apple but next week it will be different 😂😂😂👍

Great talk, Jack, I do like a slight bend, but I get drawn to my straight billiard hardcastle more than anything same as you I’m an occasional clencher

My favorite shape is Bulldog straight or slightly bend, I like them both.

If she's a good smoker, sits well in either hand or mouth, holds enough tobacco or filter to your own preference, the shape is only important to the eye!
