Always thought that Elizabeth Hurley was never given the opportunity to really shine in a singular lead role - this could be it!! She's still beautiful, and deserves a career renaissance - Piper looks really promising, I'm in!!

That's mental, I've always thought decades ago that a thriller about the piped piper would be awesome. An adaptation of the original story would make for a great medieval horror thriller - villagers going to hunt him down but getting more than they bargained for.... This Liz Hurley version will do for me though 😅

My version was more black comedy and music ;) Donovan played the piper in the 70s movie.I also recall Jack Wild in it too.

What's fascinating is that *something* creepy definitely happened to inspire that story. The Lueneberg Manuscript, written by a monk in the mid 1400s states “In the year of 1284, on the day of Saints John and Paul on June 26, by a piper, clothed in many kinds of colours, 130 children born in Hamelin were seduced, and lost at the place of execution near the koppen.” A 1384 entry in Hamelin’s town records also states “It is 100 years since our children left.”

hahaha ive read a horror book when i was like 12 years old and since that day i wish there was a cinematic take on the subject of the Pied Piper. The book is Piper by Brett Rutherford.

In the original fairytale, the piper solved a towns rat problem, but was stiffed on the bill, so in retaliation he played his pipe and let all the children out of town never to be seen again.

I think the theme was, that the piper did not want the children to turn out like the corrupt and vile adults of Hamlin.

I forgot where I heard about this Piper story. The story was that the Piper took all of the children to Neverland. So, the Piper was another identity beside Peter Pan. It was originally a demon. It consumed children spirit. It calculative and manipulative type of demon.

Just seen it. Really enjoyed it. I would describe it very much like Sleepy Hollow (1999). It's not really and out and out horror film. Nothing that you haven't seen before but I had a great time.

@user-rb1zf1vg9p to be more clear, I mean it's got an urban legend mystery, but it also focuses a romance. Unlike Sleepy Hollow, though, don't expect lots of slasher type scenes with The Piper offing victims.

Liz Hurley is gorgeous, the Piper is a fun design, the premise looks solid... but did anybody else think the sound mixing on the trailer was terrible? Not gonna keep me from watching, but it's rather ironically unfortunate to have dogshit sound while advertising a movie about the Pied Piper.

read that book in 1990 : Piper by Brett Rutherford so yes its been 30+ years waiting.Sadly it doesnt look like it will be scary or haunting.Just another modern flick lead by strong ladies overcoming the demons and killers of the world.Guess we will keep waiting but at least the subject might get touch by better director and not be looking like a direct to TV crap.

Just don’t understand people on here keep saying Liz has had plastic surgery when she hasn’t! Just because she has money, it doesn’t mean she has had it done. Im 54 (male) and Ive been told I look far younger, as I don’t have any lines or wrinkles. I never had plastic surgery or botox, as I don’t have the money for it. It’s in the genes!

Okay, as someone who actually lives in Hamelin, this looks interesting. Just a shame that it doesn't look like they actually filmed it here, but to be fair, a lot of the traditional architecture they're going for is limited to the town center, which is full of cafes and shops that would have robbed the film of its unique look, and the rest of Hamelin just looks incredibly bland. And we don't have any cool Pied Piper processions of the kind that the film shows there. Just cringey tourist tours with guides wearing gaudy piper costumes.

I want to see this movie because I recognize the castle in this trailer. I never been there inside but saw it from distance. Castle have small tower with windows and there is room but no door to get in that room. Of course locals say people are not allowed to get in that room because it's haunted :D and these few persons who been get there threw window fast died in strange accidents. :)
