Recorded live during a performance of Strauss' "Die Fledermaus" at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1990, when he, Dame Joan Sutherland and Marilyn Horne were the special guest performers for the "cabaret" at the ball scene, in honour of Dame Joan's farewell appearance.

Ich bin 1995 geboren, ich durfte ihn also in seinen Glanzzeiten nie erleben, nur Videos zeigen mir wie unglaublich er war. Oft wünsche ich mir ihn nur einmal in meinem Leben LIVE zu erleben. Leider wurde dies nie Wahr und trotzdem habe ich das Gefühl, wie bei dieser Aufnahme, er wäre es noch.

Di fronte alla grandezza vocale interpretitativa di Pavarotti,lo spazio dell'infinito resta una nullità, il grande vuoto che la sua voce ha lasciato sarà e resterà incolmabile credo per secoli.Addio..... GRANDE Luciano.

He is great as usual, I think people may underestimate how he was also a subtle but effective and powerful actor, there is acting and emotional projection, it's not about dramatics but it is powerfully there.
