I do not claim that I understood our schizo rabbit perfectly, but I think it's not only her immersion (and she said it too), but also the overall separation between her "tainted" image and their "idol-like" personas. So to explain, she is unsure to interact with these vtubers as is, but say she does. Then she would be dragged into the picture every now and then. So while scrolling her twitter or whatever she would see lots and lots of people attacking her idols because of her interaction with them and that would be probably very hurtful OR she would see the positive feedback but in her mind it is also bad, cause she hates herself (and I hope she will overcome it one day). So tl:dr. She doesn't want to see herself with her idols or her idols to be associated with her

@@Yansko-san the idea that despite the fact you have succeeded, you feel like you shouldn't have and don't deserve it and thus you're living a lie. It's basically a hyper-interalization of "I'm not good enough" Sometimes it's because the person is legitimately a fraud, but a lot of it is because people don't like to accept that success is just as much luck and connections as it is merit.

Everyone is looking at this as an imposter syndrome but you can see it from an angle of depression with escapism as well. She wants to escape from herself due to self-loathing. She compartmentalise the negative emotion associated with her own existence, and compartmentalise the existence of her idols separately. She escapes to the universe of the other idols. If the other idols are in the same universe as her, then she cannot escape. It’s like politics. People want to escape from politics and compartmentalise politics far from vtubers. It doesn’t matter even if the vtubers share the same politics as you. You want to escape from politics. And now you are forced to return to reality where there is a strong negative association in political “debates”.

I think both of you are right. She's 100% seeing a therapist, but the introspection started earlier than that (probably, of course. I mean before she moved to her parents' place). And it is great that she's seeing a therapist (if true) and that she matures and becomes maybe less edgy, but even more relatable

You cannot forget that idols are also adults that live in the same world with us. The world where there are wars, rape, political corruption, drugs and many more awful things, and idols are most certainly aware of them. Pippa will not corrupt anyone just because she makes edgy jokes on occasion, not by existing, not by interacting or being friends. You should love yourself, ⚡️NOW⚡️

Pippa, that's what happens when you worship idols. You manufacture an image of your idol and keep that image as idealized as possible. When you meet your idol, your image crumbles and you are forced to face the truth of who she is. Just accept her for who she is, and cast your image into the fire.

That’s literally not what she said. She mentioned that she consider the “idols” fault as a part of their charm and refuted that it’s about immersion. She at the end said that it’s about self-loathing and that’s the actual key to understand that mindset. She simply associates the idea of herself negatively, and the idols positively. When she interacts with her idols, that positive association is dampened from the negative association of her own existence. Some people use vtubers as an escapism to their own objective or subjective environment. In her case, it sounds like she’s using it to escape from her own world entirely. Political discussions are taboo because most people want to escape from politics. The mindset is the same here. She wants to escape from herself, and if the idols are in the same universe as her, then she cannot escape.

@@youngthinker1 She doesn't worship idols, she loathes herself. She has an image of herself and keeps it as loathed as possible. When she meets the idols she looks up to, their image is degraded by proximity of being near that who she most hates. If you don't get it, you're not self-loathing enough.

@@the1necromancer Dude, I highly recommend you study up a bit before trying to use religious language. You sound really silly right now. To break it down: She manufactured an image of herself where she continuously suffers and loathes what she is. She manufactured an image of her Vtubers as untouchables that she cannot be apart of. When reality hits, and her images are shown to be false, then she freaks out and runs back into the darkness. She wants to maintain these images over seeing the truth of the matter. self-loathing has little to nothing to do with this. It amounts to wrapping yourself in a tattered blanket and throwing yourself on the ground to stay warm, where if you got rid of the blanket and walked just a little bit, then you would find shelter from the storm.

Took me a second, but I think I deciphered it. Potentially. She holds her idols to a standard she admits is unrealistic. In doing so they're kind of in a glass dome, a display case where everything is ideal, just right, beautiful. But if that person winds up interacting with people that she's familiar with, who she knows as just an average person, it's sort of dragging them down to the level of the mundane by association. The unattainable aspect is gone. Because it's just some person walking around like everyone else. That's how I interpretted it.

Interesting clip. I've also had similar thoughts. I think it's important to remember than Jesus Christ was both God and man and lived a perfect life on earth. Yes, man is fallen in nature, but we are also created in His image and the Holy Spirit can act through us. I realize a lot of people rarely reflect on the sinful nature of man and are not Christians but I think it can be a useful way to understand our place.

What a weird view point, but I’m basically the exact opposite. All the people I enjoy watching stop existing in my mind once I’m done with whatever I’m watching them on. The people I watch don’t need to be good people or have certain views, they just need continue to be my entertainment, and I’ll continue to be a nameless viewer. I’ve had dozens of opportunity’s to meet professional athletes I enjoy watching and a few KZfaqrs who’s videos I enjoy and I never do, cause I have before and they are just normal people, not good or bad, normal. They only seem special cause their jobs are televised and I bet they’d say the same. If Pippa interacted with some of these people then she’d see the same and the fact that this would ruin these people for her is honestly dumb, cause if she didn’t know them and just discovered them I bet she knows it would be different
