I'm looking forward to seeing where the stop motion style goes though - it'll be interesting to see what direction they take. Tbh I never expected Piranesi to get a film adaptation, it always felt like a story that wouldn't work half as well in any other format than written to me, so it'll be interesting to see how well this gets pulled off in general.

If you're talking about how he said he was not "looking forward to it in any way, shape or form", I assumed this is in reference to the fan reaction. So he's saying that he's not looking forward to all the people yelling online about JK and how supporting Harry Potter in any way makes you a transfobic piece of trash.

I don't get how you guys don't see that you're part of the problem he's complaining about. He basically said he's not interested in the discourse, and you immediately out of nowhere bring up JK Rowling. I've been watching Daniel's vids for several years at this point, and I can pretty safely say he's probably more annoyed at you guys who go around and yell at everyone who doesn't want to interact with HP about how someone who is openly transphobic is actually fine and we should support them. He has said in previous videos that the HP franchise is being super greedy, and is oversaturated. He's also talked about disliking JK Rowling on multiple occasions, and to top it off, he's also said that the HP movies are already amazing adaptions, so his initial reaction could be as simple as annoyance at money being wasted when so many other deserving books haven't yet had the chance at their first adaptation.

Because they're starting it now, if they do HoO it has to be done after PJO is finished, which won't be for many years. Kane is a completely separate story.

I think Kane Chronicles makes the most sense to do simultaneously with PJ out of any of Riordan's other series, particularly if they're going for a connected world type thing. They can't break continuity (because of spoilers and marketing reasons), so that rules out HoO and ToA immediately. Magnus Chase, while it isn't super obvious, is also actually occurring at the same time as ToA in-universe, while KC happens a bit before that and over multiple years iirc. I assume its also because KC is probably easier to translate to video than some parts of MC, and having the actors around the same age as the PJ ones will help with the inevitable crossovers.

A new edition of the Elric Saga was recently released by Saga Press. I would start with volumes 1 & 2 of the Saga Press version. When it was first compiled in book form (I think it was a newspaper serial or something before that), books 1-6 of the Elric Saga told a complete story, the 7th and 8th books filled in gaps in the continuity of the first 6, and books 9-11 honestly went completely off the rails and don't really fit into the earlier continuity. In the Saga Press version, books 7 & 8 were inserted into their proper chronological places. So volume 1 gives you books 1-3 + 7 (renumbered as 1-4) and volume 2 gives you 4-6 + 8 (renumbered as 5-8). That'll give you the complete original Elric Saga experience plus some bonus content. Saga Press put books 9-11 in volume 3 and volume 4 is material that Moorcock put out much more recently (more classic sword & sorcery than the truly weird books 9-11, but still not really in keeping with the old continuity). These can be fun in their own way, but I would consider them nonessential. If you prefer the graphic novel format, you could try Blondel's adaptation instead. There have actually been multiple comic book adaptations of Elric, but Blondel's is a more modern take with great moody gothic art and a disturbing atmosphere. (The older comics have a great aesthetic in their own right, very psychedelic, but they're hard to get your hands on. I've only managed to find a few issues.) The Elric book Daniel mentioned in the video, Elric the Necromancer, is actually volume 5 of Blondel's version. The first four volumes are already available, and you can get them as a box set. If you just want to dip your toes into the very beginning to see if you like it, book 1 of the Elric Saga is called "Elric of Melniboné" and volume 1 of Blondel's adaptation is called "The Ruby Throne." Both versions are very short and digestible. You might have trouble finding Elric of Melniboné by itself since most individual printings are pretty old and newer editions tend to bundle it with at least two more books. I think The Ruby Throne is pretty easy to get by itself though.

Ngl I liked the Kane Chronicles more than a lot of the other series. The OG is best ofc and the follow up heroes of Olympus was great but Kane Chronicles imo was also great
