Let's Build in Planet Coaster! Today we head back over to our pirate themed area and use a combination of pirate scenery, art shapes or 'primitives' and more to create a playground with lots of detailing and pirate theming. A bit different to other things I've done, but I think it turned out pretty good!
Planet Coaster is a construction and management simulation video game developed and published by Frontier Developments. The game is a spiritual successor to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, with the third game in that series having been previously developed by Frontier.

It would be nice to have an eating , drinking and seating place on the opposite side of it. Because kids can play over there and the parents can sit , grab something to eat for themselves and the kids.

I'm watching four years later after having just bought the game. As a 51 year old roller coaster lover your kids play area is brilliantly creative. You and your wife make a great team. I hope you are both staying happy and healthy. EDIT: Safety First :)

This park is SO CUTE! I love it. I put it in my park because I felt like my pirate section needed a bit more going on, and I think I'm gonna build a sorta rest area for the parents right next to it, or else across the pathway.

So cute! Now you just need a seating area for the parents. A few benches where they can collapse for a moment while the kids play. 😁

I was thinking the same. Even adding a couple of restaurants, stores and of course some bathrooms for the little ones.

Great Design! It would be really cool if frontier were able to create some interactive playground pieces likes slides, ladders, etc that could be built into a custom playground such as yours so that kid guests could actually use the playground.

You should build a first aid close the the playground. Just in case kids hurt themselves playing on the playground. It would add a lot more realism to the scenery and park.

Good thing you pointed out the ship wasn't a coffin, that would have gone dark real fast. I gotta say, I am really impressed with how you've made use of the art-pieces, it just looks really good, very creative and fitting of the theme. Can't wait for the next video! Absolutely love this Let's Build series :)

You need some benches in the park for mummies and daddies to sit, with some litter bins. Could you also add an area where families can have picnics? Would be a great addition around the lake perhaps?

Jonti....the reasons for no swings or spins? INSURANCE premiums! :) Alas in our litigious society, at least here in the US, it is the LEGAL liability that motivates such decisions. The climbing stuff can be (a) padded at the bottom if you fall, (b) limited in height, and (c) have attendants who insist on safety lines without having too many staff to break the budget. Theme parks do a lot of "bounce/ball houses" and things that are similarly contained, imposing "remove shoes" rules to make fewer hard surfaces to hit other kids in the head, etc. etc. One problem, competition-wise, is that these kinds of areas are now, in miniature, at more or less every other McDonald's with an indoors "PlaySpace" so the theme parks have to do more and be more themed to stand out which you certainly have done! PS about your color issues and wifely help? IF you watch old Hollywood color movies, you'll see in the credits something that says, regardless of studio "Technicolor Consultant: Natalie Kalmus" Well, that was the WIFE of the PRESIDENT of Technicolor who got a "free" credit thanks to her husband's influence (and also a check!) from the studios that used the process but did less with the actually color than your wife is doing, so...may I suggest she should be the official channel "Color Consultant"? :)
@Geekism
@Geekism 7 жыл бұрын
I didn't even think of the litigious element, but you are probably right! And I think the wife would love to be known as 'color consultant' :D

(I know this is an older video, but I don't know where else to ask): I'm new to this game, and I haven't quite been able to figure this out: Do building parts count for scenery bonuses on queue lines? Does the game calculate line of sight? Could I just spam the same rock into the same space over and over and over and the game would count it? And on a related note: Wouldn't it make sense to route a queue line through a play area like this, for reasons of [see above question]? That way at least it's not JUST scenery but serves at least some function. That said; I found this channel, SLAMMED the workshop link and subbed to ALL of your blueprints. :D Bought it two days ago and already have 18 hours logged. I think I might have a problem... o.o

...re ladders/nets/slides? A lot of these things in r/l have a regular step set somewhere so that less-agile parents can get up there to supervise smaller kids, too. Mom and Dad won't climb the net (smile)
