Saving up for my K20A2 swap next year for my 05 Civic EX SE. From where I’m from too much people with RSX, WRX, Si. I want my EM2 to look like a sleeper. So I did a Ep3 4 lugs rear disk conversion on my civic.

I like seeing anyone putting the effort into their own projects, so well done Tim. But he is going to get a very painful lesson in power tool use the way he's going (no offense to Tim, you either need to listen to a good teacher, or learn the hard way). It's like he is nervous when making a cut when he needs to be committed and confident, but then all but forgets there is a cut wheel spinning at what...4-5 thousand RPM(?) and crawls around with it still running, or sets it down and lets go before the wheel has stopped! ANY power tool can bite your ass when you don't give it your full attention, but grinders/cut wheels are particularly vicious. We all put our blood, sweat, and tears into our babies, but...try and limit the potential blood part to something a single band-aid can manage. I can't help but picture Red off camera holding his phone with "9-1-...." pre-dialed and his finger hovering over the 1. On a better note, this was a great video on the Freelander shaft use and conversion. Thank you both for the great technical content.

@@PirateGarage I thought the earlier Crv's had a coupler like the wagon, I'm new to hondas as I have always had vauxhalls which is a UK car manufacturer, Im looking at getting a civic eg hatch for drag racing as like how simple it is to make them awd with the right information, I will be solely be using the car for drag and even thought about removing the coupler altogether and using some sort of rubber donut in the hope it would help the transfer box handle the shock of hard launches

But you can't solidly connect the front to rear if you plan to drive on the street th2 driving will bind, for a 2wd that rubber will work awd using your plan will fail

Right setup wrong chassis. Em2 are too heavy . If this setup was in a eg/ek hatch or coupe he would than be good
@PirateGarage
@PirateGarage 5 жыл бұрын
My cars factory curb waight is 2400lbs stock and for the thousands of dollars I save by using OEM parts I can buy a bigger turbo so I'm good you can have your eg/ek me and Tim have had our em2's for 18 years so we are not changing
@Cloneufc
@Cloneufc 4 жыл бұрын
The eg/ek suspension is fine, but the frames are garbage. Once they rust, they crack and they are flimsy in general. I prefer the heavier beefier frames and suspension of the EM2's, RSX, K series in general. eg/ek's are tin cans on wheels, in an accident, they just crumple. I've seen an RSX get tboned and maintain structural integrity.
