I actually really like the fact that they dressed the ghost-pirates in practical costumes and only enhanced them with CGI (which looked really good and creepy) rather then just doing it with people in MoCap-Suits. It really helps to ground it visually. Very well done.

i hate how they changed jack sparrow. in the first movies he plays the fool, but actually tricks everybody, and leaves with everyone thinking "how did he come up with that" or something like that. but in the last movies he actually is the fool.

*The biggest problem I'm having with the new POTC movies is that the directors are afraid to tell Depp to tone it down. His performance as Jack Sparrow has become so iconic that people aren't giving him proper direction/criticism anymore. These Hollywood directors need to realize that no matter how famous an actor gets, they still NEED direction! Actors don't have the same vision of the movie that directors and producers have. Think about it, post production is a MASSIVE part of filmmaking, especially today with all the digital effects, and actors have no part in it!* *If there is a sixth installment they need to work on showing Jack in a more serious light, like the first and second films. His humor should be centered around wit and sarcasm, rather than slapstick and stunts.*

Depp isn't the problem, the script is the problem. If you look at it, they made it more about comedy than action adventure. The Disney producers most likely said to the make series like The Avengers and marvel movies in general since those marvel movies got popular through jokes and entertainment.

This movie was good, but the first one is still better. they did Jack wrong which was the most annoying part. in the first three movies Jack played the fool while being the smartest person in the room. he was the man with a plan who could also fight quite well. he was crafty and witty. well in this movie he is just pure comedy relief. instead of playing the fool, he is the fool. it was disappointing.

I'm very glad i'm not the only one who notice that, it felt to me that in this movie Jack was a fool and acted like drunk all the time.... in the previews movies it feels like we see a different Jack Sparrow, smarter and more serious !!!!

It was the best one imo. Really loved the additions of henry and carina. Hopefully we get a sixth one with the core 5 of henry, carina, will, samantha, and jack. Just love this franchise but in the end we know it depends on how much they make from the movie, but i expect a good turn out.
