Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea-notably Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” also stars Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, Stephen Graham as Scrum, David Wenham as Scarfield and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa.
Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are directing “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. The executive producers are Mike Stenson, Chad Oman, Joe Caracciolo, Jr. and Brigham Taylor. Jeff Nathanson wrote the screenplay. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” drops anchor in U.S. theaters on May 26, 2017.

i honestly felt the 5th installment was flawed. Salazar is like the greatest Pirates villan ever and they fuck up the movie compared to the previous installments. Instead of making a trailer of the movie, they should have made a movie of the trailer lol xD

People often compare Pirates to transformers, fast and furious, DCEU and other average franchises. But I ask which series has shown similar creativity? Mkst of the big franchises borrow material from books, comic books or toys,whereas Pirates has used just the name of a ride and created a whole new world out of it with charasmatic and fun characters. Captain Jack Sparrow is a cinematic icon unlike most other famous characters who come from other source material. I challenge you to name a series that has so many interesting villians. The visuals of the series are among thr best in the world. Too many iconic one liners. Excellent action set pieces. And the music is bombastically brilliant. Bring on more Pirates! El Capitan You honestly can't compare the pirates franchise to those other franchises. I've never even heard anyone compare it to the dceu. They're all different series' with their own themes, tones and characters. If anything I'd compare POTC to Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or even Star Wars, in terms of scale.

Please dont tell me this is the last Pirates of The Carribean movie 😭😭😭, i think this is one of the best franchise in Hollywood. I remember when i was riding the POTC ride in Disneyland, we sang the "YoHo, YoHo!!" song while queued, it's magical. And i cant forget how amazing the first trilogy story are. Coming back to this so many years later. I wouldn't watch a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie without Johnny Depp, but I also don't think we need one. I loved the ending of this movie. Jack Sparrow sailed away as Captain of the Black Pearl, and Will and Elizabeth were finally reunited. It came full circle, and I don't need another installment. Five movies are enough for any series, in my opinion.

I love this movie. It’s a damn shame y’all fired Depp. An innocent man. I mean come on, all of the actors he has worked with in these movies even backed up his innocence. If a man, who is kind and gentle, Javier Bardem even says Depp is innocent shouldn’t that say something? Bardem and Depp are like brothers.

Pirates of the Caribbean franchise can continue for many years. Even if Johnny Depp gets really old it would still be good. The concept of it is not affected by age at all. He is a pirate and pirates usually are way older than how Depp looks now. Even aged a lot it would still be good

just the movie " the maze runner" this is actually the same but in a bigger more realistic scenario... the point is, we are the ones in this race to find how to find the fountain of youth... Atlantis, The Garden of Eden, Agartha, Shimbala,The Land of 1000 names... and this is the only money he is showing us that all we have to do is follow the compass.... read again... COME PASS!!! to the true north, where we all wanted to go when we were little because of santaclaus, and now be no longer believe is santa so we forgot about the NOrth Pole... this is why flatearth was not talked about in the media, because if you have a flat earth and you look at your watch or your clock... you will realize that everything comes from the center, were just a little sperm trying to race inside, yet out of millions of sperms only one makes it in... and then having a rebirth or born into this life.... while the hole time Jesus was the SUN of god not the Son.

Sorry friend- it was sadly terrible if compared to the original first three movies. It has its moments but overall it was just laid to waist by its rather bad writing and plot hole breaking moments.

Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite movie of all time. I have been waiting YEARS for this. First, they moved the release date from 2015 to 2016. Then they moved it to 2016 to 2017. I know if must've been because of problems, and I'm glad it's finally getting released!!

He's a Pirate is heavily based on something Zimmer wrote for a previous movie, so however much Badelt contributed it definitely isn't just by him.

Klaus Badelt (I think that's how you say his name) had composed the original, not Zimmer. Zimmer only adapted it.

Everyone in this thread is talking like they don't know each other or something. Zimmer was Badelt's mentor at the time, and Zimmer was the music producer for Curse of the Black Pearl. I doubt there's a note of the score Zimmer didn't oversee before it left the studio.
