In the 2011-12 Season Andrea Pirlo sprained his right knee, instead of not playing due to injury he simply used his left foot.

Deep-lying playmaker, yes. Holding midfielder is a bit vague as it could also include ball-winning defensive midfielders, and there are obviously better ones historically.

People should know bout Dejan Petkovic, a serbian former madrid player who made history in Brazil from 97 to late 2010s. So strong on free kicks and with both legs. He even made to score a goal from corner kick with his left n weak leg. Absolute legend. Any brazilian would agree.

As much as I love Pirlo and know that very few midfielders can be compared to him in today's time I'd say this will not work in a serious game. Look at the space he has, look at the level of pressing.

@@Slinky82you have 0 contextual awareness or understanding😂 If someone is RIGHT footed then all of a sudden uses his left foot for 99% of everything he does, then on the odd few chances where he can’t place his positioning or hip where he needs it to be able to use his left he visibly is seen very uncomfortable using his right. Therefore he’s used his left for 99% of the game, if you want to the one guy to pick up on that 1%, then that’s your answer for you.

title is wrong saying "ONLY" his Left foot. if you pay attention enough, you will see that there are more than a few times he controlled, dribble and pass the ball with his left. You can see that he tried to avoid using his right, but it is not his "ONLY" foot. it is still OP considering that Pirlo was still performing great despite the injury and conscious effort of not using his right.

@@rajahkhonai Remember his right knee was sprained which would effect his technique with his left foot too. Pirlo was definitely two footed check out some of his assists, he had so many using his left foot!
