Would like to emphasize on the importance of hardwork. You don't even have to be smart, you just have to be not lazy. I'm pretty much an example of what not to be cuz I'm so counterproductive and lazy. I do wish I've known the things you said when I still was in pisay, so I really appreciate how you guys shared your tips for others to make use of :)

Just wanted to comment here and say that I passed the NCE but wasn’t a top student in grade school (and definitely didn’t have 95+ grades) so it’s definitely possible to get in even if you were an “average” student in elem :)

other sci hs like mine have research for like 6 years (from 7th grade up until 12th grade). it was stressful indeed but we surely had fun since we were traveling to multiple libraries and laboratories for the sake of our research.

so sad that during the time i took the test, my mental condition was horrible and it greatly affected how i took the test. nevertheless, i still love learning about pisay so this video was really cool!! my interest in pisay makes me garner some friends that study there and most of them def have a great taste in music :P

provincial campus represent: that 100% passing rate... if i'm not wrong, it started with our batch so i'll say it in a perspective of someone from that kinda batch, well i mean it's great for us in the batch bc yay haha but it just puts pressure on the lower batches huhu :( just wanna say i hope the lower batches don't let that put pressure on themselves and not be hard on themselves, just do with what you can. anw this was still so fun to listen to, and it gave me perspective on my brother since he's part of the pisay new curric and i'm from an old curric. my stay in pisay was still something hehe smc batch 2014!

I may not be that smart, but this definitely gave me confidence for this year's essay. I may have grades that are 90-95 but I just don't THINK it's enough to be able to get in PSHS . My self esteem has being going down lately ever since COVID-19 started and my social anxiety has been getting worse, but I was able to overcome it because of my goal to be able to go to study in PSHS.

Actually, I'm not sure but the passing grade of pisay requirements is 85 I think so you are more than enough to pass.

AAAAA hi schoolmate!! (well not anymore but still) hshshs im also from pisay,, im in a campus in visayas but i wont tell hihi just guess whether im from wvc, evc, or cvisc :DD,, gaaaah in the competitive part i have something to say,, when i was in elem i was a very competitive gal but when i started going to pisay the competitiveness deteriorated lmaoaoaoa,, in my campus, teachers discourage us to be competitive and instead encourages us to help one another (except if it's acad/sports fest bc ofc there would be a tad bit of competitiveness but obv only the friendly one),, also the "acads is lyf" assumption really reminds me abt the "gwa before jowa" quote AHSHASHAHAHSAHAHHA,, (Here's also how I manage stress: I watch/listen to something that can boost my serotonin (contents from kpop groups i stan & kpop songssss i love) also I am the type of person that works better under pressure so I usually do my work a day or two before the deadline (unless if it's a group project) but im not saying yall should try this cuz it's very risky hihi)

idk but this helped me to calm down a bit. The lateral admission is about to start and I'm contemplating if I should try to go for it or not. I'm currently in 8th grade going 9th, and the reason why I'm contemplating is that I think I couldn't handle the pressure at all. I'm not that smart and I'm not that diligent either when it comes to academics. I usually do my hws and pts at school and I don't study at all, it still wonders me on why I still stayed above the 3rd rank in class. I think I would hit rock bottom if I were to pass the lateral exam and actually study in pisay. It would crush my pride and humble me sm 😵 but then again, what's the cost of a better future? When I think about it hard enough, studying in pisay would actually help me in the long run since it's a place where I must adapt and develop. kaya tysm for making this video 😩 I'm an anxious person and watching this reminds me that the environment there would be like anywhere else, only a little bit tense but endurable when you have the guts.

Hi po, would you mind, answering the ff questions I have? 1. What are the inclusions being a Pisay Scholar Food, Book, Dorm, Laundry, etc...? 2. Who chose your campus? Can you choose a campus? 3. Can your mom go inside too in your dorm if they visit you for just a quick stop? 4. Any monthly allowance provision? Hm? 5. Does the inclusions/ provisions applies for each campus? Thank you! 6. hi, i'm a pisay alumna (WVC) and I think I can answer some of the questions you have :) 1. If you're a pisay scholar, there's a looot of inclusions tbh. There's a monthly stipend (based on your financial status), and free books and tuition. You do have to pay for your own food and other extra expenses though. The dormitory and laundry situation varies per campus, but in WVC I think I paid around 300 pesos for dorm rent + utilities. As to laundry, the school dormitory had its own system, so I just availed that for like 1500 a month. 2. Yes, you can choose your campus. I chose WVC so I was enrolled to WVC. 3. Yes! Sometimes my parents would pick me up from school or visit from time to time. 4. It depends on your socioeconomic status, but it ranges from P4000 to P500. You can refer to the pshs site for this. 5. The inclusions on the scholarship, books, stipend, and residence in campus applies for all the campuses in the system. 6. You can go home during the holy week break, christmas break, summer, weekends, holidays, and/or whenever there are no classes.

first of all congratulations! good luck and i hope you enjoy your stay 🥰 neither me nor migs were dormers, so i asked cai for her advice: Hi! I was only a dormer for one year in cvc, but I remember feeling really homesick back then living away from home. What really helped me was finding someone I could relate to who was going through the same thing and trying to get along with my roommates as much as I could. 😄 Hope you feel better! - Cai

@@Jhaneamonette hello! not exactly, science hs is more of a time management school than a study (like smart smart) school based on my experience. if you can handle your time very well and make sure you study in advance, you can do well in sci hs. it’s bc they either give u an easy yet too many tasks or one big and difficult hw. good luck on your sci hs journey!

hello po! i am an incoming grade 7 student and I tried to take an exam sa Sci High, actually last April 30, 2022 was our entrance exam and luckily I passed! omg same question here but im planning to apply for g8 lat admission pero saalam ko po after a while of research, di po dinidisclose ng PSHS ang 'curriculum'/'ptr' as per their policy (i emailed them asking for info, they only disclosed that they are corely looking at the student's skills o kakayahan in the 3 subjects in the laqe, rather than disclosing the exam contents.) but ive seen many people including those who have taken the laqe that it is mainly composed of the previous grade lessons and the next grade lessons. (ex. youre a g7 student applying for g8, so g7 lessons mainly irereview mo then a bit of 98 lessons daw po.) hope it helps! also the exam/lessons seem to be in line with the school's advanced curriculum which is 3x more in depth/meticulous than an ordinary school curriculum, sobe ready for that daw. ive seen someone say it isnt hard but it varies i think KI-COPY PASTE KO LANG YAN SA ISANG COMMENT:)

just some facts from someone that has, for the first time, experienced face-to-face in pshs, the students are actually more laid back than you think and still crack jokes about cheating in exams and such. some of the teachers are also not very keen in "no copying", they just say to understand the lesson even if you copy from a classmate. you just need to rephrase the code or answers for it to be accepted. (especially for math, computer science, etc.)
