First trip with the Kraken off Block Is. RI was a success! No issues whatsoever with drag, retrieve, operations. VERY QUIET motor with plenty of power. Ease of operation was spot on with the manual. This reel was tested with double hits of large Sea Bass using 40lb braid,12oz lead in 70ft. I plan to take it offshore for Sea Bass, Porgy and others 80mi out. If anyone is thinking about this reel, it is indeed a economical option to the Tanacom 500. Flexible inshore or nearshore E-Reel.

This reel finally arrived and its everything Scott has said it was. Its smaller than the Tanacom 750 and alot closer in size and capability to the Tanacom 500. Very lightweight as well. I managed to wind 543yds of 40lb Hercules 8 strand braid on it which is almost spot on by spec. I did spool some 20lb but because the reel itself has counter settings that are tuned to 40, 50, 60, 70lb sized braid, the ultimate length of line was off by quite a bit so, It appears 40lb is as light as you should go with this. If the Tanacom 500 is a bit too pricey, then the Kraken is a worthy and cost effective alternative.

so what about fit and finish? I'm thinking about tanacom 750 and price isn't a big factor either way. I do like the fact they come is left hand. if you had a choice which would you chose money not being a factor?

@raybly6613 I don't think I can honestly answer that questions having never run the Tanacom 750. I have heard of one bearing failure on a Piscifun and they that person got sent a whole new reel. I would think that anyone that can service one can service the other. I like that Piscifun also sells the batteries and can't wait for the 10,000mah ones to be back in stock. I will say that the Tanacom 1000s and 1200s I've unused have much easier to figure out line counters. Thank you for watching! @redwood1957 Nope, it runs great. RAn out the battery on the last deep drop trip but it was the last 100' of the last drop and it had gone all day on more than it's limit of blue line tile from 350' and then 3 goldens and a bunch of rosies. Get the combo and an extra cheap 12v 5AH or so lipo off amazon as a back up for really long days. I just got in another to add another rig. Here's the combo: shrsl.com/44uxl Thank you for watching! @shaunalon1074 I kiek the Tanacom Dendoh rods. They have a good flex but plenty of power. Having flex so the rod doesn't unload during the fight help you not shake off fish. Does it say anywhere if the bearings are sealed? What are your thoughts on its durability in the saltwater?

@user-qu3ze8nv8d I don't know of nay application where you would want an electric reel in FRESH water so being as how this reel is designed for salt like all the other electrics out there, I'm pretty confident in the seals. We are going to give it a good run for the money on durability this year (when the dang wind quits in the Deepwater areas that is) So far it looks like a very smooth and durable reel and works great. Hello Scott, regs have changed here in California for rock fish over 300 ft so us old retired guys are buying this reel, which we really like but were all having trouble with the instruction , it would be Great IF you would take the time to go over the instruction on how to operate EACH function of the reel , its the shits getting old , but if you could give us basic tips on how to set line counter plus step by step instruction we and I'm sure others OLD FARTS would greatly APPRICIATE YOU HELP. thank you for your understanding and cooperation LOUIE

Seen yours video but I need to no I fish 300ft to 500ft with 3 to 5lb lead an will it pull fish up to 30lbplus like my tanacom 1000 any info would be appreciated before I invest in a couple off them gear ratio seems fast at 5.1 compared to 3.4

@fishinmissionii2992 Our biggest so far is a #13 blueline from 350'w 2# lead. We've also caught Golden now in 600+! No problem and the 10,000mah battery they sell lasted the entire day! I thought you would use the electric reel on a bent rod so that it can do all of the work especially if you catch a monster from below!
