Did we every get clarification on if just taking the brace off and leaving a rifle tube is good enough for now? I thought I’d read they want you to put a pistol buffer on it? So much info out there.

The day they dumped this abortion, I didn't even read it, nor have I since. I just said, "Don't care, will not comply with unconstitutional rulings from an unconstitutional agency started by a drunken Congress in 1934." On June 1st, 2023, my boy and I will be sim-shooting steel targets at 500-800yds with our 10.5" and 12" 6.5 Grendels. He's been looking forward to it for the past year. The 10.5" has an SB Tactical Honey Badger Pistol Brace on it, making it the first AR-15 he can actually hold and control well.

I lived in California when they made SKS owners register their SKS. It was a little while later that California banned the SKS. Law enforcement had the registration paperwork for all of them that registered like a good citizen. Law enforcement said turn them in or were coming for them and we know where you live. I live in Florida now.

I have two of the original Sig forearm braces. I'm disabled and have been paralyzed in a wheelchair since 1986. I use it as intended. If they are going to put me in jail for that, so be it. I bought it legally. I use it legally. It serves a medical purpose, and if I am going to jail for it, then this old man will figuratively stand his ground until then. Molon Labe. 😊

@Robert McAlister thank you, but I'd have to get caught first. Its easy to store my AR pistols without the original braces and put them on when I shoot. I shoot on private land, so I can't see law enforcement even being aware of me and my braces. Other than this post, of course. I don't feel I'm disobedient either. The ATF approved the brace for disabled shooters and then took it back. I did nothing wrong. I bought it legally. It's installed legally, and it serves a medical purpose. Besides, there's a case for violation of civil rights in the ATFs dumb plan, and they don't even see it. The ADA was passed to assist people with disabilities in living with the best possible and most "fair" life they can. So I'm ready. I appreciate your support.

You are missing the whole point. The system is CORRUPT, RIGGED, they do NOT operate with the rule of law. Rules only work if the sheep follow them. 🤷🏽♂️ sometimes in life you have to make choices. Sometimes they are difficult. But if you are true to yourself, who you are and what you know is right, then you will usually make the right choice. Or just tell me to shut up and let someone else choose for you. I am a law-abiding law enforcement officer of over 31-yrs, and it is absolutely so disappointing to see that the ATFE did this. I will NOT register mine. I will remove the braces, secure them, and reinstall them when this too gets overturned in three years. I am ashamed that this can happen in the USA. Granted, I couldn't believe that we could do it originally, seeing it as a super-cool loophole to allow me to carry a shorty. Work on mental health red flag reform and work better to keep the guns out of the hands of mentally unfit people, who simply become armed criminals. Armed citizens need tools to stop armed criminals. Otherwise they become unarmed sheep stalked by armed wolves. Train smart, train often, know the law.

Why 3 years? Also, among your colleagues, what is the consensus on this? Would they enforce it if they were in the position to? For example, finding one attached during a traffic stop, or seeing one in use at the range. I’ve talked to a few LEO buddies who said they wouldn’t personally enforce it as it’s unconstitutional.

CO's draft bills had anything with "assault" features and semi auto classified as an assault weapon. No transfer in state, no use on public lands, and they are working on allowing counties to ban shooting on private land. No one talks about it, but CO is a bunch of tyrants now.

DON'T FORGET THE RULE SAYS IT MUST NOT BE ABLE TO BE RE-ATTACHED. So if you take it off you must make it unable to be re-attached in ANY WAY. So you will most likely have to change out the tube as well.

Exactly what I was wondering- destroying the brace is one thing, but a 6 position stock litterlly can slip right on now- but that’s not addressed by the “Actively Taking Freedom” disgraced group- so…….. what next? @@rucker69 That wasn’t unlawful for him to do. It wasn’t the government, but traders and salesmen in the temple. Furthermore they were actually violating the people’s right to worship and make sacrifices in the temple. They turned it into a den of thieves. None of this business with the ATF is somehow keeping us from fulfilling our obligations to the Lord. My argument is not invalid, that’s a very cheap statement to make to try to brush off someone’s point. Nice try though.

Entertaining video, thank you for posting. Here in CT we have the added complexity of owning CT 'Other' configs with a 13.5" barrel, so swapping for a longer barrel is not an option for us. For now, we can only remove the brace.

Abolish the ATF! Talk to your local representatives & demand the reform & restructuring of all the three letter agencies in the government. They are an enforcement agency not a legislative body who can make up rules as they go. Let’s take that authority away from them through the House & Senate. If they do.. then those agents will be absorbed into other agencies ...and their actions will probably continue under the banners of the FBI, the Federal Marshals... even the IRS... 5th option: magpul makes good inexpensive stocks. I picked one up, it’s great.

Problem with putting a regular stock on it is that it automatically makes it an SBR. The whole thing is stupid because the difference between a "stock" and a "brace" is a few inches of plastic that they say makes it more comfortable to shoulder. If you put a regular stock on your weapon with less than a 16" barrel, you are making an SBR that needs to be registered.

I was just told to leave a gun store earlier today when I brought my GEN one Galil in for trade on some thing they had..it was the 8in version… The guy looked at me like I just bought a bomb in to his shop 😂 Fudds😂 Been a customer for years and wouldn’t go to Wooden Indian in DefianceOH again

@@a.N..... First off I’m a grown man who knows time place and manners so Of course I let them know first off that I was bringing a firearm in for trade secondly I brought it in in a case. Chamber open no magazines or ammunition or anything like that in the case whatsoever-Plus this is a small town place which I have done business with numerous times-Guy literally opened the case looked at it shut it and said I’m going to have to ask you to take that and leave the store 😂 it’s illegal in that configuration 😂

Just so you know according to the ATF reference guide for affected parties you can be legal if you remove the brace BUT ONLY if you do so in a manner “so that it cannot be reattached”. What John showed (or did not show) in this video would not qualify as it can still be reattached the rifle. Take that info as you will but it’s better to be informed

Not that I have a dog in this race, I don't myself own anything with a pistol brace, but I think this is one of those times in our society where maybe a healthy dose of civil disobedience is in order, just simply nonthreatening noncompliance, then let the ATF make their move and see where the chips fall.

When the braces came out, I turned to one of my co-workers at SHOT and said ATF would change their minds in 2 years and F everybody. I was terribly wrong. It would take ATF 7 years to change their mind.

Canadian here.... DO NOT register your guns. All of our under 18.5" semis and pistols have to be registered at the time of purchase. Now they are trying to come take them and they have a list

Every firearm is basically registered when bought anyway. The SBR/Silencers/Brace thing is just extra registration on top of it in a separate database. The ATF knows who owns every weapon or lower bought in the past like 30 years or more. That’s why this is so stupid. Especially braces and silencers. I consider silencers hearing protection and an aid. Just like braces 🤦

I have never been so terrified, the first 3 and a half minutes of this was absolute horror. I am thankful you rendered this gun safe by removing that awful brace. I now do not have to worry about those with disabilities protecting themselves from tyrants and criminals.

I agree. My left eye was twitching until that murder brace was removed! I heard the Nashville he/him, that murdered those people, was wearing a brace on he/his shoulder while using his PCC “assault pistol/rifle/gunthingy” to mow all those people down. I mean if that pistol brace was used to kill them, think of how more messy it would have been.

I don't own a gun (hope to one day, but stuck in WA State for now), think I've only fired a real one maybe like 10-12 rounds. I found this conversation very enlightening and informative. This "law"/reclassification is utterly ridiculous. Rock on brother, keep up the fight. Stand your ground.

Why is that keeping you from getting one? Granted I haven't lived there for a while, but other than the three-day wait on handguns I always found the process way quicker than any other west coast state. Not to mention the $40 shall-issue CPLs that arrived within a week.

Was watching some states reps speaking at the house. The lady from Colorado said alcohol, tobacco and firearms. Just sounds like a good weekend to me. I believe it was the representative from Texas. That just said alcohol, tobacco and firearms should just be the name of a good convenience store.

3:20 it’s my understanding that just removal is not within compliance, you have to install a buffer tube that isn’t indexed for adjustable stocks (completely round)..
