Probably the only thing in the early years of basketball that those eras weren't far behind on compared to the modern game is passing. People these days flex their dunks and their 3s and their Prisonball defense etc etc but back then from what I can tell it was the flashy passing people cared about

One of the best point guards ever..His dribbling & passing was unbelievable..Fun fact in 1975-1976 he averaged 26pts 5.5ast 5reb 1.5stl & didn't get voted on the All-Star game But was a All NBA 1st Team selection 🤯

The key is he said on a "3 on 1 situation" which means the team mate he's actually passing it to should theoretically be open no matter what because the lone defender is focusing on the other team mate that it appeared was going to get the pass but ultimately didn't.

What a Legend he is!! I watched the Pistol Pete movie over and over and over and over and over again when I was young. I was obsessed with all sports especially the one that was in season at the time and when basketball rolled around I dove in headfirst. Michael Jordan films and the Pistol Pete movie were a go to when I wasn’t in the driveway or at the gym playing! He was a phenomenal athlete/basketball player!

Red Auerbach has so many videos with so many figures in basketball. I saw him show defensive drills from DeMatha Catholic school coach Morgan Wooten the other day, and that's just a small but very successful school out in PG County, MD.
