Possibly the best engine building videos I've ever seen, for a second you were explaining something and I said "uh huh" outloud, feels like you're explaining it in person. Just bought a TT motor today so I'll definitely be using these videos

The best how-to rebuild vid for the VG30dett out there. How long until the next video, to finish it off!! My Turbos are being redone now and im about to tackle the mains using this video! Great stuff.

27:07 to anyone installing an oilpan on these motors, heed my warning. ENSURE THE DIPSTICK IS REMOVED BEFORE INSTALLING THE OILPAN. That is all.

Make sure you when gasketing the pan on the dipstic is not in or els it could get stuck in there

Great content, I subscribed cuz I like your Nissan content and, I'm very interested in Nissans design and engineering progression VG30 - VQ35DE - VR38DETT. I have just one thing that annoyed me, you put in the first vid discription (1 of 3), but you didnt number the rest of the videos. I found the next vid cuz I was motivated to see the rest but, I'm sure some people gave up cuz they didn't see (2 of 3) in the vid discription.

Part 3 will be out..eventually. I've been pretty tied up with my job, and have had little time off where I've been motivated enough to finish editing! Hopefully I can get it done before the end of October

Great Job but why not clean the piston up prior to reinstalled them just me. But good instruction am really impressed and all you doing is going by the BOOK like you should really build your self esteem and confidence. Your explanation very understandable.

The pistons were all soaked in varsol and scrubbed with a nylon brush, but without going with something more abrasive, that's the best I could do. The ring grooves were thoroughly scraped out though, as we definitely want a good seal.

Awesome and very very informative video man! Helped me out with my turbo build as well too! I was struggling finding good tolerances for my VG30E. Would those z32 main studs work on a older VG30ET??

I'm not certain if they will work, as I am not familiar with the VG30E. You could probably ask someone with Z1 performance; they are very knowledgeable!

I have big turbo. I get excessive blowby at high boost. But out of high boost not a problem. engine builder says "Never seen rings seal at low boost and not at high boost without their being another cause" 🤔

This car is similar that way. I don't believe it's an issue of the rings sealing better at low boost. If the rings were gapped for high boost applications, it's likely just compression gasses bypassing the rings because the pressure is so high. I'm not an expert on that sort of thing though, so I could be very wrong lol

So how did your engine turn out after reassembly everything and driving ?

I will hopefully have some video footage of the finished product in the spring when the car hits the dyno. It was broken in last summer and seems to run well.

@@ghostsmoke11 Yes, the car has been running for almost a year now. I have all of the footage to put together the final part of the rebuild; I just have been swamped at my job, and exhausted when I get home. I'm planning on forcing myself to edit this weekend and get something uploaded.
