He actually might. If he fights Cruz next, then Teo, then Haney for undisputed, he could walk away with 2-3 mil in ppvs, plus another 50-60 mil in live gate revenue. It could be too lucrative for him to turn down. But, we'll see. I think it all hinges on if he fights Cruz next.

@@J-Hue - I didn’t say he won’t fight Cruz, I’m saying I don’t think he’ll stay at 140. Tank is currently the WBA email champion and should start unifying. He has huge fights with Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson at 135. Do you honestly see that happening if Cruz fights Tank next and beats Cruz? Him staying at 140 to fight much more proven fighters and not being able to add rehydration clauses? And the last thing Haymon wants is for Tank to drop a title that he waited so long for the WBA to email them

On paper, it would be a great fight, Mex vs PUR but for Cruz it is not and would not be an immediate option. Right now, a fight between them would be detrimental to Cruz's career since he needs to show his true potential in 140 and Haney, Matias and Lopez would be high risk if they face him now. It's just starting at 140.

Cruz should have a tune up fight before Matias, Pitbull is nice and strong but he is new in 140, maybe another fight in 140 will make him more comfortable. It’s unfortunate that the 135lb division has passed Tank by, Teofimo Lopez is a champion at 140lb, Devin Haney was undisputed at 135lbs and now a champion at 140lbs and now “Pitbull Cruz is a champion at 140lbs, Ryan Garcia is fighting Haney for his belt and Tank is left with Frank Martin, Shakur Stevenson and Vasyl Lomachenko and we won’t see Tank fight the last 2 in that order because he is chasing money and not belts! Tanks only money option is to fight Inoue who currently sits 2 weight classes below him at a catch weight because he is a natural 135 pounder. As much as people bang on Haney and Lopez, they have moved on quite nicely! Floyd has convinced Davis to forgo legacy and fight for money which is fine but I don’t give a rats ass about how much a fighter makes because it only matters to him and his family, what I care about since ‘75 is guys fighting each other in their primes dominating and clearing out their division. Tank is one of my favorite fighters to watch and Mayweather has ruined the kids legacy! How could he let Haney become undisputed before his own fighter! Oh I forgot, he doesn’t want Tank to surpass what he’s done in the sport because he still thinks he’s the face of boxing. Mayweather has never been undisputed!
