Virginia Tech picked up a 38-21 home victory over Pitt in a strong offensive performance by the Hokies. VT QB Kyron Drones had a terrific game, scoring 5 total touchdowns. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 228 yards and 3 scores, and then added 41 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. RB Bhayshul Tuten had a 109 yard game on 24 carries. Pitt QB Phil Jurkovec went 11-22 for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.

And just like that....UVa and Pitt are in a battle for the basement. Glad VT won but Pitt just happens to be REALLY awful. Drones gives this offense life so there is hope for a few more wins.

They did and that’s why we lost. We got away from the run that was working last game.

@@amp2117that’s not exactly why we lost..bad coaching staff…play calling…LB lost containment resulted in extra yards….and you see how wells played this far (awful) ..

Drones doesn’t protect the ball well at all. Nearly every hit in the backfield had a potential to fumble.

Damn. Where do I even begin? So many problems with this 2023 Pitt Panthers team, the O-line not able to protect QB Jurkovec all night which led to too many sacks, not much of a running game because of the terrible O-line. The Defense, giving up too many scores late in the game and not allowing the Offense to possibly tie the game at 28. That is now 4 straight loses by Pitt and the last two by 17 pts. The Panthers are competitive in each game, but they seem to be overmatched. I don't see Pitt winning very many more games this year (maybe against Wake Forrest or BC) and a high probably of finishing the year at 2-10. Not a good year for us Panther fans. SMH. 😑

I love Virginia tech but still a lot of bad tackling out there I miss Frank beamer.. I remember the years growing up where we never lost more than two games a year and devastating watching us lose week after week Grant Wells is the worst quarterback I've ever seen in my life I still wonder Marshall didn't even want him

@@jonburrows2684 The defense is the good part about our team? If we didn't get the consistent pressures we did this game would have been over in an instant. Our defense held Pitt to essentially 14 points, and we've held opponents to 24 on average this year even with consistently bad turnovers.
