Why, I’m related to Franciscans and they are the ones who truly live the gospel. They welcome everyone, gay, straight, black or white and treat them with nothing less than love and respect. They believe in common sense, they listen to science, they care about the planet. They don’t judge or spew hateful trash out of their mouths like this character or like some far right conservative clergy who lean on ideology and not faith. A Franciscan pope would do us some good. We humans have made the Catholic church so complicated with all these rules like who can marry who and so on and it doesn’t have to be that way. A Franciscan pope might bring the church back to its original mission to simply love one another. Our current holy father has already gotten us part of the way there. He’s the best thing to happen to the Catholic Church in a long time. I really hope you’re joking because the last thing we need is an evil pope who talks like a damn mob boss.

The audience is able to make their own interpretations regardless of the intent of the creator. That is the point of art.
