In today's episode, Apurva Sheth is in conversation with Yogesh Nanda. He will teach us about Pivot Point Trading which is a momentum strategy. It can be used to trade index and even stocks or options.
Yogesh begins with explaining the importance of risk or money management during the trade. He warns that lack of this could lead to disaster; especially in futures and options. He also emphasizes on riding with the trend to increase trade success rate. Finding a bottom may not always be a good idea. Yogesh also insists to track price closely as a primary source for providing early signals in markets.
He further mentions that Pivot points are also derived from the prices just like RSI or MACD. The advantage of pivot points is that they can be used for any timeframe from daily to quarterly and yearly. Pivot points not only help in identifying the market trend but also in sighting the phase of stock in which it is trading; bullish or bearish.
Yogesh has shown us on charts how we can identify resistances and supports for a particular stock and identify trading opportunities objectively.

After very long time came across an objective video really a great job Mr. Nanda I enjoyed it as if I was sitting in a class room it reminds me of the study lecture in the Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India, I am talking about the auditorium in the year as it was in the year 1977 at that time the syllabus was too tough and Mr. T. S Grewal used to teach us Accounts during those days He was Director of Studies I mean to say you explained the system like a very good teacher when some body wants to help he do that by keeping the things simple really a great experience

Amazing and Simple!! Rather I would put it this way - Simple n Mind blowing!!!! I use pivots with multiple timeframe but was not clear to have a proper method of selecting stocks for 'Shikar'. BHAGWAN AAP DONO KO SADAA KHUSH RAKHE!!

Very use full information. Sir when we copy link in pine there is no R1 and S1 lines available . Only tow dotted line one with bigger dots and another with smaller dots . Pl make video as how to copy and paste the link in Trading view pine . It will be really useful . Thanks in advance

Getting below error while applying "line 56: The `transp` argument will be deprecated soon. We recommend using color.new() or color.rgb() functions to specify the transparency of the plots instead". Also this indicator looks different than one shown in the video may be settings are bit different.

Hello Rajesh, In the description, click on pastebin, this will open in other page, where it asks for password enter the password 'yogesh'. This will open the script, copy the script for this indicator. Go to tradingview, open a chart, below the chart click on pine editor, first delete everything in the pine editor and then paste the script in pine editor, save it and then apply it to the chart. This will plot monthly and weekly pivot on your chart. The pivot would remain the same even when you change the timeframe. I hope this is helpful.

When do you pick up blue chip shares if you go with the trend? Warren Buffet says be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful. Throw some light on this thanks. I normally sell at R1 and buy at S1 provided if profitable as I do the same counters, this works wonders in a range bound market and 80% of the time we are ranged, if one considers the period prior to March'20. Stock selection is important here and this method is not advisable for Mid/small caps, also one has to have a lot of patience as a one direction movement will not help, hence this works best in a range bound market and I do this only for the nifty stocks.
