Thanks so much! I don't expect any job offers from Mattel, but I do think it would have been nice if they focused a bit of their attention on the incredible history of NASCAR instead of only next gen racers.

@@TheCarsShifter true, but it’s not even that, they put out some unnecessary background cars most of the time and later on becoming peg warmers, I genuinely don’t mind find a next gen because I do like collecting next GENs and just piston cup racers in general, but Mattel has to really know their audience especially with that Thomas reboot 🤦

I think it only makes sense since you have Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mario Andretti unchanged in the first movie, so for ones that I feel didn't really need a carification, I kept the names the same. :)

Thanks very much! The accuracy of the Cars 1 racers is something I could go on and on about, but that's a topic for another day. I thought both iconic versions of Jeff were essential to include and I tried to make Michael Cartrip look related to Darrell by giving him his brother's same headlight coverings. :)

As much I and everyone else wants Dale realised we still have to get though his step mum or mabey something might happen who knows.

And you know, besides Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Darrel Waltrip making guest appearances in the first Cars movie, what if more NASCAR celebrities made appearances in said film too, like Jeff Gordon, Bill Elliot, Rusty Wallace and Toby Stewart?

I would assume the reason they never added Jimmie Johnson to Cars would be because McQueen essentially represents him in their universe being a 7x Piston Cup Champion of course. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much as always! I love the jet black Hudson Hornet paint job too, hence why I included it here, probably my favorite look of the real NASCAR Hudson Hornets. Since it was Doc Hudson's original number for the movie, I thought there's no better place to have it as a diecast than this fictional line. The old World of Cars edits were of course a huge source of inspiration, the amount of character those things had were just insane!

Thanks! I had to keep the line a certain length to accommodate the music track, but there's always the next part if I ever do make one! I wish they included Jeff's black flames design as the Nitroade racer in Cars 3 with him voicing it as the Brick Yardley character. It seems almost too obvious, but I guess they didn't want to erase Jeff Gorvette.

In the same way Leroy Hemming isn't called Buck Baker or Tim Flock, I think it's good to take creative liberties and remember the Piston Cup isn't just a carbon copy of NASCAR. I wanted at least some of the characters here to be considered canon to the World of Cars so you have a nice balance. If I were to do James Hylton, of course it would be his winged Dodge Daytona since it's too great a model not to use for the drivers that drove those cars. Thanks for watching! :)

Thanks very much! My thought process is that some of the characters featured in this line would be canon to the Cars universe while others wouldn't. The Jeff Gordon's probably wouldn't be because I like to think Darrell Cartrip was Nitroade all the way up until Aiken Axler, etc. The Doc Hudson is another likely wouldn't, but if he was never killed off I bet he would have gotten cool variations like that, just bearing the #51 instead of #6 of course. :)

@@TheCarsShifter Yeah. Also, since Darrell retires from Piston Cup in 2000 and Aiken debuts in 2003, who was racing for Nitroade in 2001 and 2002? Probably you can add Terry Labonte for this?

I am well aware of that fact, but I took the creative liberty since Nitroade fits Darrell so well on top of the fact that the livery was run in a 1977 Monte Carlo sometimes just like he is. I think there's a very fine line between NASCAR and the Piston Cup, so that Darrell is my most canon attempt at his prime look since I have Buddy Baker and Bobby Allison as their Dodge Daytonas because those are too iconic not to make their canon characters in the same way Strip Weathers isn't one of Richard Petty's Monte Carlo's or anything like that. I didn't want to compromise and make Jeff a Corvette because it wouldn't make sense to have one racing in the modern day Piston Cup, especially considering McQueen is already designed after one. I think Pixar clearly only had the WGP in mind when designing Jeff Gorvette which I think was a huge mistake, hence why I decided to just completely overhaul him here. :)

We know that Captain Obvious, it's the fact that Jeff Gorvette doesn't resemble Jeff Gordon really. Strip Weathers is nearly identical to Richard Petty's car, and the same goes for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jeff Gordon was a NASCAR Racer and his car was blue with a red flame job, but Jeff Gorvette is just a yellow Corvette voiced by Gordon, and he isn't even in the Piston Cup. People have issues with that and redesign him.

Why wasn’t Jimmie Johnson in cars 2 instead because him and Hamilton have a lot in common due to them dominating these two motorsports that they were in

@@DavidFrame-dj9mx very true, by the time Cars 2 released (2011), Johnson had just won 5 NASCAR Championships in a row (from 2006-2010)

Like it would have been also good to have Rusty Wallace and Kurt Busch in a two car set
