Pixel for me since I rarely do videos. All that iPhone benefit gone in this case. Plus I much prefer the Pixel Android experience by far compared to ios. Pixel is on a roll and looking better than ever with so much more smarts and useful features. Have been a big fan since Pixel 2. No reason to leave the best at this point... which are Google's offerings. Great work BTW.

The camera may be better in some scenarios Dan, but there’s more than a camera to a phone, I’d not trust another Pixel as my daily driver, improvements are needed in my opinion. 😊❤xx

To be honest I really think the majority of consumers won't even care if the sky is blown out. They just want to take a photo of the object or dynamic they desire. Also the iPhone has a much brighter and sharper dynamic image while's the Pixel is so noisy and dark just because of the image processing on the sky which you like to talk so much about and people don't really care much about. Also I would really appreciate if you bring back the traditional point system that you used to do since it makes the in-depth camera comparison more competitive and simple. And plz do a 4-phone comparison like you did last year with the 13, 13 pro, 12 pro and S21 Ultra.

@@ebrahimfawad940 Yeah I like the more vibrant colours that the iPhone usually uses. It seems to be a little darker in some situations compared to previous years? I've never had a iPhone but looking to upgrade my phone of 4 years for the best camera around at the moment. Do u think the iPhone 14 has the best day time shots. I've been having a hard time deciding between an iPhone 13, 14 or pixel 6, 7 and some xiaomi models. They all seem to have pros and cons with day, night and selfie camera. Don't think you can get an all rounder but day time shots seem to be more preferable

@@lewisthomas457 Yes they do. I have an iPhone 14 Pro and that 48MP proRAW captures the most amount of details then a 108MP camera does. It’s that good. The brightness, colour, sharpness and dynamic range are all 100% clean and detailed. It makes a massive difference when you’re upgrading from a 12MP camera phone or any year old phone. Even if it takes up a lot of storage it’s still works as neatly with proRAW off. Apple’s attraction to detail is honesty so game changing compare to Samsung and Google that just depend on the lighting conditions to make the camera work at its full potential. You will have no regrets once you upgrade.

I guess it’s safe to say based on camera, you can go with either and won’t find missing out massively, both have some benefits and of course some limitations…now it all depends on whether you want to have iOS or Android

And if you buy one right now, before the 17th, you get a Pixel Watch with the Pixel 7 Pro. That value proposition is nuts and it's the reason for why I am going to switch back to Android this time around.

@@sanderschat that’s true but you also get what you pay for with longevity and as we know the pixel has a bad history with longevity but they have fixed a lot of problems that they’ve had in the pixels past so it’s just down to preference at this point, but if you choose either of the top three flagships, you won’t be disappointed

I don't know if this is talked about enough but I really do think the biggest improvement I've seen with the Pixel is its tone mapping and colour science, which seems to be a lot more more refined compared to the 6

Pixel uses machine learning to recognize objects by trace details and then fills in the lost details from its knowledge of the object. And this is how they are able to achieve such phenomenal zoom with software. Now the algorithm could either be a colossal database or a hack. Given the memory of the device, I’d say the latter. Question is how much can this technology improve without eventually becoming a huge database?

On the iPhone, you can change the lens when video recording in 4K 60fps if you start recording with the ultra-wide lens but only if you start with THAT lens

Honestly, I never zoom in any more than maybe 3-5x, and most of the time that’s only for video. I almost never zoom any more than that for photos so having better zoom wouldn’t matter.

In India, iPhone 14 Pro costs equivalent to $1500, whereas Pixel 7 Pro costs equivalent to $850 (both prices are after bank discounts that we've got here). So, unless someone here really wants iOS and Apple's ecosystem, I think the choice is pretty clear.

In Bangladesh, iphone pro max costs 1600+ dollar,where pixel 7 pro costs 1000 dollar.Huge difference in price in terms of performance. But still people will buy iphone just for show off 😆

I have been testing both and my experience has been nearly identical. I used to go Pixel, just because the camera was so good. Now, it’s not that case and it just comes down to Android vs IOS and which you prefer. Both are good. Both are also not as good in some instances. Tough choice.

great video.. i'm a pixel guy now apparently lol. You can't go wrong with either. Some things are preference. they both have strengths and weaknesses. why not include long exposure shots and action pan shots? we know how difficult it is to pull off on a dslr.

I'm a hardcore Google fanboy, but man... Cameras across the market are getting so good nowadays it's really just preference. You'll gain a little and loose a little depending on your choice, but we are getting some really good stuff these recent years.

The pixel obviously dominates with HDR. I'm not sure this is good most of the time. I think darker shadows and the occasional blown out highlight make the image look better despite missing some detail. Sometimes next to the Pixel shot the iPhone just stands out so much more.

When you look at the sky from indoors like in one of those early shots. Your eyes don't see all the perfect blue like the Pixel captures, your eyes see the bright white light. Much more realistic IMO.

I think you guys are right and I'm a pixel fan. I notice this year the pixels are putting out images that are softer to me. In most of these pics I prefer the iphones sharpness 😲 Also I feel you're correct with the blowouts seeming more natural. I don't notice the pixel keeping the sky in detail until he points it out... and I don't really care, I'm more focused on the pics other details which I like on iPhone. Still getting a 7pro though 😂 as I love the other phone features like call screening it has.

Phone cameras have reached a point where the difference is too minimal to even notice. Both photos shown look good to me, if not shown side by side I would just be happy with it and move on lol.

Of course it comes down to if your iOS or Android, difference isn’t greater than that. But from a photographers point of view, you hardly mentioned what’s fixable in after processing, like colors, sharpening and HDR, and what’s not. Personally, biggest advantage with the 14 Pro against older iPhones are the 48 MP Raw shots, adjusting in Lightroom on the phone and save/print. Quality is stunning. So if I wasn’t into iPhone already it would have been tuff choice if it wasn’t for the 48 MP RAW. But that’s not for everybody, get it.

Finally a youtuber that mentioned the s22 ultra, i thought i was in the twilight zone where the s22 ultra doesnt exist🤣 yes i want to see the pixel 7 pro against the s22 ultra especially zoom comparison, and it would be even more fun if the s21 ultra and s20 ultra joined in so we can see how far the pixel has come. If the pixel 7 pro can match the s20 ultras zoom, then i'll buy it. To bad it comes only with 256gb though.

It’s baffling to me how apple can’t fix the lens flair and green orb issue. Samsung and other androids have had it solved for years. Also the HDR processing on the skies is brutal compared to pixel, or compared to nothing. Just fix it apple. I have a rrrrreally hard time spending 1200 bucks on a phone with these issues.. so I’m gonna get an XR for 200 and maybe the 15 will fix it. Would’ve been fine with my X but my rear camera doesn’t focus after I replaced the screen that was fluorescent green and unusable -_-

I've used Samsungs, iPhones, Pixels, Huaweis and it surprises me how tech reviewers fail to mention the zoom capability of the front cameras (both photo and video up to 4x) on the pixel phones. That gives it an edge over other phones, at least in terms of camera versatility. Granted it may not be the most useful feature in a front camera for most people but it is always better to have it than to not have it. And no other phone has it.

If you're a photographer like me who doesn't mind RAW processing in computer to get the absolutely best out of the sensor, the JPEG files converted from 48MP ProRAW files will blow your mind. The RAW files have so much detail and latitude to work with. I had been perfectly happy with my 13 Pro and wasn't planning on upgrading this year until I saw what one could pull out of those 48MP ProRAW files. It's a shame that the Pixel 7 Pro can only output 12.5MP files even with RAW.

I usually default to iPhone for video, Pixel for stills. But there was some back and forth for me in certain specific cases. I'm especially interested in 24 fps, haven't decided between the two there. Looking forward to improvements in both going forward. Nice comparison. 👍

Why the hell do we need a comparison that focus on the cameras? That's like comparing just the seats of two different cars. There are plenty of other things we doo on a daily basis with the phone, other than taking pictures or shooting videos. How about testing all these other features and functionalities?...

Don't forget that Google will very likely release a series of camera updates to address most if not all the problems at launch which will make it even better. Apple has a reputation of failing to address any issues with the iPhone camera, so you're stuck with what you got. Pixel FTW.

Yes, if photos are essential, then use the 48mp RAW on the iPhone, as that takes the 14PM to the top of the class.

As someone who came bck to Iphone after a 5 year break, coming back made me realize just how oversharp Apple's processing is. Any time I take pictures with trees in them, it becomes a sharpness mess and ends up quite ugly and low-res looking.

To me , taking pictures isn’t the issue. At some point cameras on either phone will not be good. I’m not a professional photographer so it doesn’t matter to me. Not if that’s u are then yes it matters. Ive been an iPhone user since the 6plus( 2015 )& I had no problems since. At some point I will go cheaper cause I’m getting older & money will be the issue. The Pixel Series are great RAW ANDROID Phones, so I’ll be getting one soon. Great video on da details of pictures & quality of them all but as for now, it doesn’t matter to me. Enjoy ✌️✌️✌️

I like having one Android and one iOS, and the Pixel 6 Pro for a casual user like me is highly recommended. In fact, the Pixel 6 (7) base model would suffice to save $300 (£250). They run rings around the S22U for a basic user like me.

so you just compared iPhone 14 pro 48 mp raw footage that rarely any average person will ever use to normal pixel 7 pro camera and then say there's a difference in 2x zoom that's not really the right comparison. Also sharper image does not mean good image. I have iPhone 14 pro and camera is good but dynamic range in iPhone is just not good compared to pixel by a long margin especially when you taking selfies you will notice tremendous difference, as of now google wins hands down. Will be def buying it.

I phones are known for mimicking any lights in the evening. You will have green dots all over your pics n videos. If you use your phone for photography/videography go with the pixel

@1:14 the iPhone looks like it was being focused for the fore ground as the grass at the front the photo was much sharper than the grass on the Pixel. The Pixel showed it with mid range but did not capture as much detail as the iPhone

Better video quality (which doesn't make any difference on TPA) and some more detail when zooming in on photos isn't worth paying $1686 for iPhone compared to $1000 for pixel 7 pro + watch+ buds in India

This is the best camera review I've seen between these 2 phones. You pictures were well selected to outline the strengths and weaknesses of these cameras. Thank you. To me, Pixel preserves the highlights better, has better performance in poor light and a slightly better zoom. While iPhone maybe has a more rounded camera, with better video and more extras.

Man these phone cameras still have a long long way to go on anything other than good natural light. Selling them at £1000 is madness. When they make a real breakthrough on these small sensors, these two cameras are going to look awful. I was going to buy the 7 pro to use as a second camera to my main camera but not at that retail price.

The dark shadows on iphone are a major problem also the annyoing yellowish tint

So if apple improves their HDR processing...its an out right best camera phone out there? And maybe improve their night mode shots although its more consistent like you said but yeah needs a little bit of work. Great video anyways...thanks!! I forgot i about zoom....yeah we need a lens of apple xd

i mean post people want the shadows to be brighter that is what iphone is doing on the other hand pixels focus too much on exposing the highlights we lose all the details in the shadow i am talking about the landscape video night and day difference

I hate my pixel 4xl only because of the portrait mode, where i can't use telephoto lense despite having a 2x lense. So annoying.

I think in the pet portrait of iphone 14, the focus is more of the pet face than on the whole pet. Also the blur is too aggressive on iphone 14.

I think it's because you take the picture with 50MP camera BUT the result is in 12 MP (after processing )

Since I'm an Android user I'd pick 'Pixel 7 pro', but actually I like it's Camera system over the iPhone ( like the 'Dynamic Range' overall ) not significantly better than iPhone, but still im team Pixel.! 😎😀
