Maybe my bar is too low. But I'm currently watching this on a pixel 6. I've never felt like my phone is slow or lacking power. Battery life is still pretty good. Not perfect but I don't find myself worried about my phone dying. My major complaint about this phone is the finger print sensor being slow and not working well with a screen protector. This phone has aged well for me. I have no desire to upgrade as of yet. Maybe in another few years.

The beauty of 7 years of updates is that you don't have to pick up a pixel on the day of release and you can buy the last year's phone cheaper. And we all know the Pixel 9 will be on sale.

The biggest undoing of Pixel phones is the battery life. It's lagging behind in comparison to the other flagships. Waiting to see battery life of P9P XL.

My mom have the exynos s24 I can say that its a improvement from the snapdragon 8 gen 1 in her previous s22 and the internet connection is getting stable. Its big improvement from my moms old s10e with exynos 9820.

Also, if they're doubling down on TSMC chip, the Pixel 9 upgrade might not be worth it. So if you're looking for a phone right now, I'd think Pixel 8 is still a good choice.

Having an 8 and not being a person who needs to have the larest I'll wait a few months to see what the 10s looking like before deciding if its worth getting. Anyone looking at purchasing the 9 I wouldn't blame them. Best of luck whatever you decide.

Tensor needs more power and efficiency . The current minor improvements are not enough to keep up with rivals like Qualcomm snapdragon and Apple silicon.
@ezradangerАй бұрын
There hasn't really been a good reason to wait a whole year for a next generation of technology since like 2018, probably earlier than that. Get a phone when you need it. That being said, as good as the move to TSMC is going to be, the 2nd generation on TSMC will probably be the one to wait for if you were going to wait for a better chip. Give them a year to learn Tensor and how to best manufacture it.
@bilbobaggins9488Ай бұрын
Of course I'd rather wait for the 10, but Google tends to forsake the previous generation as soon as they release a new one, only giving new software features to the new one. So that makes me consider the 9

Before playing the video: predictions- wait for the *G5 to come around, but if it’s been a while since you upgraded, the G4 will be great too.

My pixel 6 pro has been a good sidekick for me but I'm definitely feeling an upgrade for camera and battery life mainly...also screen brightness. I'm tired of barely being able to see my phone outside 😂

The design of the Pixel 9 series is wild !!!

This will sound sarcastic but I promise I'm being genuine. Anyway, I put a small desk fan next to me when I play COD Mobile on my Pixel 6 Pro if it starts to get a little hot. It performs quite well when I do that. It rarely struggles or lags for me to begin with, though 🤷🏽 I am planning on upgrading to the 9 Pro when it's released, though.

I'm a huge fan of the new hardware design choice they've chosen to go with this generation, especially the matte finish. The only thing I want is better battery life & better sounding speakers as I do watch a lot of KZfaq on my phone. Cellular connectivity could use some work as well. Other than that all good and will be upgrading 🙂🤗💯

Wait. The new processors in the 10 lineup will be made by tmsc, the same company that makes processors for IPHONES. Would you rather have this processor or the Tensor G4 which is made by Samsung? It isn’t really that hard to figure out, is it?😊
@ashchbkv6965Ай бұрын
i'm pretty sure samsung's chips are not gonna improve enough to be nearly as efficient, but i really hope they do, because right now it's a tsmc monopoly

I have a Pixel 6 and my phone is almost dying, I absolutely gonna buy the Pixel 9 and keep it again for 3 years and see how google handles their first steps of own soc.

It's not option for me anymore to wait. Gotta replace my 4 years old Pixel 3a since the battery unable to hold the power like it used to be. Might wait for Pixel 9 launch, it's either Pixel 9 or Pixel 8.
@ricardosmith2060Ай бұрын
I'll be upgrading to the pixel 9 but no way am i paying full price. I'll wait until they have $200 discount or something. That being said, I haven't had any issues with the tensor chip. The only thing i hate is the finger print scanner and they should be fixing it on this one.
@CatalanskrrАй бұрын
95% of all smartphone users shouldn’t even be bothered by those numbers. The G4 will perform incredibly well, just like the g3. As long as your not one of those hardcore phone gamers, you will never ever feel the, at least on paper, worse performance. Also, it will be more efficient than the G3. The pixel 8 pro could easily get one day of battery life, so the pixel 9 pro will be at least on par or better than this. So no reason to be worried. If you like the design and the software, just get it.

I had a Pixel 6a with the G1? anyway, it was fine no real issues except standby time wasn't great, but not terrible either. Now I'm spoiled with a one Plus 12R which has amazing battery life and fast charging. Pixel will always have the best camera imo, but others are getting very close.

So I have a theory on this TSMC chip. From what I read they're responsible for mostly apple chips, and that's supposed to be a big great thing because apple has powerful chips. But I make the argument that those chips really aren't that powerful and IOS is just (as always) incredibly optimized. From my understanding people are complaining about lackluster gaming performance for the new AAA ports to the app store. Meanwhile Samsung phones are running Window 10 emulators and downloading PC games that are running incredibly well especially considering the lack of optimization and the strain of running it through an emulator. Samsung chips know android which is by nature an unoptimized experience due to it being open source. I have a feeling these TSMC chips are not going to do well for quite some time which is why I think I'll upgrade to the Pixel 9.
