You need to use the x100pro & it's raw files shooting mode against the ff camera for a fair comparison. You can't compare auto shooting mode saving on jpg against a ff camera that's not really a true comparison, I think camera enthusiasts are scared to do that as it will show just how close smartphone cameras are coming to make ff cameras obsolete Also The x100 does NOT have a 1 inch sensor only the x100 pro does

I think it would be interesting to see if the portrait mode with computational photography and adding fake bokeh can come close to the natural bokeh of a full frame.

ty for the vid, you may want to try, throwing the vivo into pro mode and treating it like the dslr, , the gap gets much closer, for everything we would do with portrait or landscapes, however Mirrorless or Dslrs come into their own when doing any kind of wildlife, sports, etc , as soon as you get past 5m with a phone in those situations the results plummit compared to the camera, but i guess a 7k of camera gear should do this 07

X109 doesn't have 1 inch sensor sir , it's 1/1.49 inch. Nice explanation though with 3 suitable examples. Full frame just stands apart APSC still looks very natural compared to smartphone.

Different dof change a lot the impact of the photo. Try to reproduce the test matching the dog... Sometimes narrow dof is a problem... Like child potrait at 50 mm you need to use f6.3-8 for the whole face in focus where a 3x crop factor can do at wider aperture so 3 stop less iso

I have X100 and It has sony imx920 1/1.31 inch main sensor, X100 pro has 1 inch imx989.Even non pro version is amazing on photo Maybe you didnt notice it has vivid and zeiss photo mode.Zeiss mode is natural mode, vivid is more punchy. You probably had vivid mode turned on

hi radha, 1. cell phone camera and the real camera are mutually complimentary. they both have their roles. so the question is not relevant. 2. the learning curve with a cell phone is worse. if you need to get a good picture you need to master the technique of using a cell phone really, really well. a real camera is much, much more forgiving. 3. if you can live without post processing with a cell phone camera you can live with a real camera too! 4. in the department of ergonomics cell phone cameras suck. but I will keep my cell phone camera with me while I carry my real camera. some places do not allow camera photography but allow cell phone photography. do not ask me what is the logic in that dictum. in such situations cell phone might come in handy.

Neither x100 has 1" sensor, nor 1" sensor has 1 inch in diagonal. 1" sensor is 16 mm on the diagonal. The name of a 1" digital sensor should more accurately be read as "one inch video camera tube equivalent" sensor

Your comparison methodology is flawed. For a start, you should've matched the focal length and aperture to the equivalent focal length and aperture of the phone. Secondly, you should've used the RAW files of the phone and compared them to the RAW files of the cameras (use regular RAW not computational RAW).

Putting a poor kit lens on APSC is really not fair. This comparison supposed to be fair and square. Both FF and Vivo are using high quality optic to show their ceiling performance but that's not the case with APSC. I bet high quality optic on APSC will outshine any smartphone even with 24mp

In the apsc body(canon m200 most probably)..you have used kit lens otherwise no comparison at all.Smartphones are convenient but never ever a replacement of m43/apsc/fullframe..cameras...day by day phone brands are increasing the sensor size,because a.i and software are not a substitute of real life physics.

Everything is for sale. People who are professional and dedicated for photography are being presently sold to smartphone makers. The experience and professionalism they gained using dedicated camera gears like top branded DSLR and lenses are being utilised by them for smartphone marketing. It is true that smartphone photography has been improved enough and is being developed thanks to continuous efforts by Brands. But camera makers are not sleeping. They are improving their products too. But it is impossible that smartphone camera will replace DSLR and mirrorless.
