It's backwards because of the what the song's about. "You want to take it back to where it was, but I can't make this over." The guy wants to go backwards and start again with her. Through the playing the action of everything of that happened what this guy in the video backwards, she's showing how going backwards just doesn't work.

a very creative video! I believe that the pure song was amazing itself but when I saw the video I think the video gives more meaning to the lyrics of the song. Also Pixie Lott looks prettier in this video.
