Seguramente después de esa entrevista los Pixies se separaron. .. yo estába viendo MTV cuando en sus cápsulas de notícias informaron la separación, casi muero. Yo fui un fanático en tiempo real de los Pixies desde los 80s... Y en realidad nunca recibí con gratitud su regreso, ni la incorporación de su nueva bajista. Toda la vida he amado a Kim deal.

The Pixies made incredibly fascinating, obscure, creative and refreshingly original music. The Pixies gave incredibly dull, awkward and boring interviews.

“Well, it’s a dumb riff…”, hahaha. I’ve always loved how they used a sort of cliche arena rock “start/stop” rhythm and made it their own weird thing for “U-Mass”. The Pixies were always able to do such things in a surreal way that few people are.

I read a lot that this was one of the low points of the Pixies career or something like that, idk if it was that bad but something does tell me that Kim had beef with Francis dating back to possibly midway through the Bossanova tour.

While the tension within the band is quite evident, I like that they were all in contempt of Dave Kendall. Especially after he dissed their video for Velouria the year before.

Damn the interviewer seemed really hostile like a big negative vibe. Crazy because this band were/are absolutely amazing and he wasn't worthy enough to even wash their feet in musical terms.

Well Francis was a smartass when he answered the question about why they prefer "meaningless" album titles. The interviewer picked up on it. It was all very subtle, though.

dave created the show, and he was really knowledgeable about music but sometimes the interviews just don't really go so well LOL. If you watch other interviews with the Pixies they're kind of introverted and standoffish so this is probably as good as you were going to get

S.channel- a def.rare& groovy post,interview. Saw the band,1st time,either rite before or after this ,& man - you can feel the tension here. It did, eventially get worked out. Thank the Great Maker.

Joey Santiago (nacido Joseph Alberto Santiago en Manila, Filipinas; 10 de junio de 1965) es un cantante, compositor y músico estadounidense. En activo desde 1986, es conocido fundamentalmente por ser el guitarrista de la banda estadounidense de rock alternativo Pixies. Después de la ruptura de la banda en 1993, Santiago compuso bandas sonoras para televisión y documentales, además de formar The Martinis con su mujer, Linda Mallari. the question to ask Black, is where he gets his ideas for vocals. Is it in the moment, just as Joey is doing whatever he thinks fits the song. Does he know before he starts singing, Tame for example.

It’s so funny how much nirvana obviously influenced the pixies even though they say it’s not true. Just listen to the umass song is a straight up rip off of teen spirit. At least they had good taste.

They always said the same thing about Misfits. And just like Pixies, they referred to themselves as The Misfits at times. In both cases it seems like it's something the fans care about a lot more than the band.
