If you're a young dude, spread the word! When I was in high school ('87-'90), there were R.E.M. kids, U2 kids, Guns & Roses kids...and Pixies kids. I was the latter :) and then the entire 90s alt rock scene (grunge, etc.) was basically shaped by their sound and influence. Glad that there are people continuing to keep Pixies going.

Great tune! I'm so glad that they've been releasing this new stuff. What I find shocking is people, especially fans, panning recent efforts and essentially saying that the band should stop expressing their creativity and stop producing new work. The best artists produce work for the hell of it. Because they feel a drive to do so. They aren't here to try and perfectly fit that mould that many fans want to encase them in. If you don't enjoy it - move on and listen to something that you do like. Don't waste your own time doing things you don't like, and then complaining about it. You do have an option. However, one day, perhaps the song will pop into your head, and get stuck there for no reason. And you'll be back here listening to it with a feeling of guilty pleasure.

Im not so impressed with this album as I was when the other ones came out but...maybe thats because I listened to all Frank Black albuns during these years so...its only natural that something got stuck on the back of my mind when I listen to it.That doesnt meant they are not good.It just means that it can get better.I will be waiting for a new album that will surpass this one.Im sure they can do it.Its always a mix feeling with this one.

What I find shocking is that you are clueless that Frank Black put out 15+ records worth of material--including the best songs that he's ever written--and you were nowhere to be found during that time. What I find shocking is that you need the label "Pixies" in order to even listen to music. What I find shocking is that you have the balls to make some post about "fans" and I'll bet you have no clue about what "Frank Black" produced in his years away from the Pixies. What I find shocking is that you have some "superior" attitude while being essentially clueless with respect to the majority of Fran Black's works.

Great new song! New album is great too. It's kinda sad that mostly all reviews literally blamed the band for releasing new material. What is the point of comparing with old albums? Personally, I don't want second Doolittle or Bossanova, coz I have the first ones.

Ignore them. That's history repeating itself. Trompe was universally panned by critics ... now considered by many to be their most avantgard and best release. Anyone who trashed it in print will look foolish 5 years from now.

The Pixies are sublime, but it's been Mr. Black the whole time as anyone who followed him during his away-from-The-Pixies time can attest. Sure, Joey's got a special sound, but f-ck man, it's all Frank and I can tell you from experiencing him live, he's the ultimate bomb. (Got a great story to go with that, actually). But now he's back w/d Pixies and it's good times for all...forever and ever!

why wasn't this on the new album? seriously, the album was ok in my opinion and this song (almost) really lives up to the old classic pixies i think. Just sayin'....the critics weren't really loving the album.

"Killed" as in nailed or "killed" as in destroyed? I think if you're focusing on the technological faults, you just don't like the music. For me, the music's so good that it could've been recorded in the worst imaginable way and I'd still love it.
