This video was a lifesaver.. I had a file that i bought for a client and it would not print no where near the colors shown. I wasted almost a whole thing of ink. This was so easy i could kick myself for not coming here first. Thank you for saving the day and restoring mine sanity, i knew the color was out of range,but even when i changed it down it didnt fix it, but using it this way with the hue saturation was a perfect fix and the color is very very close still to the orginial look of the color the designer of file had that my client loved.. never had this happen before.. now i know how to fix in the future. Thank you so much!

Thank you. I work with print a lot. For me, in the early stages of a project, it’s a good idea to convert a copy to Cmyk, before sending a proposal to a client. Clients tend to see what is on their screen as the final printing version, and if the colours are off at the end, you have a problem. That way, they are always seeing an more accurate preview of the printing final work.

nice tuto. what about the test proofing in lightroom or camera raw ? I have a epson SC-P600 and use ilford smooth pearl or gloss but have lot of differences with my calibrated display under lightroom and can't fix it (200 euros philips however).

Thanks for the video Unmesh. If the area of color is out of the printers range what happens to that area? Does it get filled by the nearest color or does it automatically change the saturation?

My printer requires swop v2 and 240% ink density. Do I adjust in rgb first then convert to profile? If so how would I know above 240 warnings? Thank you for all your insightful videos, they help tremendously.

The RED makes this method work readily. The RED curve target the red lips - what about different colors with a general mix of Red, Green, and Blue? Would this method work just as well? Could you demonstrate the same technique using a "less pure" color, one that has a mix of RGB components?

What is the advantage of this compared to copy and pasting into a document with the destination colour profile? Does photoshop treat out of gamut areas on pixel basis when it converts, or does it to a global change to the image?

Finally after listening to the same thing 70 times from 70 different people I get a clear answer on why i shouldnt work in CMYK to begin with.
