Hardmode has no checkpoints, and John Ghost is in your business as well. It's a fun time. No P-rank this time, and I wanted to do a small experiment with simply having the relevant laps as the video.
I was given permission to post certain content from ELM by the devs, if you were curious. I'm not on the team, though.

Yeah, the timer's still not as scary as it looks (imo), but if you play particularly poorly in levels without a ton of rooms, it can still be a noticeable threat.

Okay, i gotta say i love the way each enemy "dies" once you finish the level. Pizza Face just gets beated up for no reason and goes out of the screen. Pillar John's ghost just *desintegrates* . And Snick does the little jump animatiom from when you die in the classic Sonic games. They really put a lot of detail on this mod.

ELM things in this hardmode video: -Pillar John’s Ghost in lap 3 -No checkpoints -Starting lap 4 in hardmode, you start with 15s, increasing by 10s each room you enter -Proper defeat animation for Pillar John’s Ghost and Snick, cough for PJG and Sonic’s defeat sound for Snick lol Can’t wait until we see CTOP’s Final Lap as shown in the trailer for ELM

I think Egg pulled a Hakita move He knew that some people had a breeze pass with some mechanics and maps of the other Lap mods So they did spice up the difficulty with Lap 4 and HOLY MACARONI he did made Lap 4 unforgiving with the WAR time mechanic Now giving it more of a threat if you dont go quick And the way Snick and John Ghost are defeated when you reach the exit That's some good sprite work and coding right there holy shit If this comes out, i know what im gonna do for the next few days or weeks

Suggestion: In Hard Mode, when you enter Lap 2, John Ghost will appear and follow you. Also, when entering though the lap portal after lap 2, a music immediately plays, much like the lap 3 mod. Also, this mod forgot to include the Lapped screen result, also coming from lap 3 mod.

I don't like how the John ghost works, i feel like they are selling me smoke. He is just there to do the same as PizzaFace, but with less risk of dying. It would be awsome to see him coming from different places in every room.

It strongly depends on the level you're in. Since he keeps up better than Pizzaface, there's still rooms where he can be a notable threat, and during Lap 4 where you have the WAR timer, having him catch you at that point can be a death sentence. Same applies to Snick, really.
