"Stop ragging on people for buying a gun you don't like." That is such a huge point, the infighting and petty fueding amongst ourselves simply keeps us distracted from a very organized, well funded and unwavering opponent that wants to strip us of our arms.

I told my wife that our kids would be exposed to guns early. They would begin by learning they four rules, by heart. Then they would be taught to disassemble, clean, reassemble, and function check every one of my guns. Range time would be a family event, and I would NEVER deny any of their requests to handle, fire, or inspect any of my firearms. I simply DEMAND that they do so under supervision. Fast forward, there have been zero accidents, and I have no concerns about my kids playing with my guns when I'm not around. Try to shelter your kids and you're setting them up for failure.

My old man did the same thing for me. Every time I asked to see one of the firearms he'd break it out of the safe and let me handle it. Supervised of course, but it definitely helped normalize firearms for me. They weren't a scary mysterious death machine like school taught me. They were just tools that you had to be responsible with, just like anything else.

I told my son when he was about 6. I know guns are really cool, and anytime you ever want to look at one, touch one, see how it works, take it a part or anything at all, just ask me and I'll get that specific gun out, but it's a gun, not a toy and you always have to ask, I have to be there. Haven't had a single problem, and he's grown up curious but responsible and always with supervision.

Fun fact: The Kurds used these as DMRs because they were the only widely available 7.62x54R gun they could get their hands on. SVDs were hard to come by. This led to some irritation with foreign fighters that caused some trouble by using the PKM full auto until the Kurds explained the logistics and thought behind this gun as used by them.

A lot of time with the PKM and PKT (tank variant) in the finnish army. I absolutely loved it and can't really recall anything negative. The tank variant is nasty: 500 round belts and a 4x periscope sight with zero recoil. Fun fact: the NSV (or NSVT tank variant) is basically the same gun but with all parts beefed up for 12,7×108. Not literally but they're really similar in many aspects.

When I was in school. We didn’t have to bring guns to school. They were just laying around. Most people bring home paperwork to show their parents. I brought home a nickel plated S&W . 357 revolver. Stamped Shelby County Sheriffs. Rubber grip with fiber optic sites, probably stopped what would have been my fourth school shooting. Found it laying on the ground next to the fire station in front of the school. Took it home and showed my Dad. We went to shoot it that day! What can I say it’s Memphis!

I sometimes used one of these back during the Shadow War... it wasn't my go-to, but it certainly had its place. Always liked it. Love the way these things sound, too. Cool video, my friend.

I drew a picture of a neat rifle I saw on TV when I was 10 or so, and got chewed out by the teacher, sent to the principle's office, and they called my parents on me. It was a 5.45 Krinkov I saw stuffed into a briefcase in some movie.

On the “youth getting into guns” topic: I think it might have more to do with where you grow up over anything else. Im 24, grew up in a sub-3000 population town in east TX, and it was pretty common for us to come to school, leave our 22s/shotguns in our principal, older sibling/cousin, friends parents who worked at the school, etc vehicles, and grab them after school let out to go squirrel/rabbit hunting. During deer season it was normal for us to go to school in our hunting clothes and leave whatever we used for deer hunting in somebodys truck the same way, and Im young enough that it wasnt super uncommon for people to hunt deer with ARs, pappys old vietnam bringback SKS, etc. When I got into High School they did start cracking down on it a bit more because I think the people that were over the school at a regional or state level caught wind of us and a few surrounding towns just nonchalantly bringing ARs to school and were upset about it, but at this point me and my friends were driving and just kept them in our own trucks. Worst thing that could happen was that they would have the drug dog in the parking lot (provided by the local police department, who also didnt give a shit but was required to go along with it) and if they found a gun theyd call you out there and tell you to drive home, drop your gun off there, and drive back to school, but that actually never happened to me even though I had my old 10/22 and wasr wombo combo in my truck at all times. I definitely dont think that shit would fly now, especially in a bigger town with more people to give a shit about it. I still do my best to keep that culture alive by bringing my little brother in law and his friends squirrel hunting after he gets out of school, and letting them play with their guns and my ARs, AKs, suppressors, night vision, etc at my range when they want to. Just gotta radiate that cool uncle energy, educate them as much as I can, and hope thats enough to pass on that “gun culture” to the next generation.
