You can use a piece of tape to start lifting the tissue back from napkin. I learned that when I was using them in my journaling. Just touch a piece of tape to the white backing and lift.

Are these paper napkins that you use to wipe something? I'm from a country where we don't get to see such stuff.

@@mirianamishra602 yes she is speaking of decorative napkins. They are usually 3ply meaning they have one printed layer attached to two very thin tissue layers.

I'm surprised you don't have to use a barrier between front and back of materials, so that the mod podge doesn't soak through. Thanks for sharing. Love it!

Gina I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if using a barrier between a t shirt would be ok since a tshirt material is more thin ot should or say porous. 🤔 I don't know. Has anyone done it. I'm excited to try this

You can also just cut around that leaf napkin edge following the line of the pattern. So it will look painted on and not stuck on.

This is a genius way to apply patterns and colour. Thank you for sharing. I’m in Australia. I’d like to see the offcuts of napkin used as a patchwork on fabric. Harlequin would be fun. Also the placements of the patterns placed diagonally of offset the item being applied to. Ie maybe just across a corner.

How does it feel on the t-shirt? Is it hard and ridged? Obviously you would want to put a barrier inside the t shirt... right? I would use a dollar tree cutting mat the thin flexible ones that come 2 in a pack... but years ago hmmmm 1994 maybe... I had a cardboard t shirt form from Plaid! Back then the rage was heat n' bond fabric to clothes and the add puff paint around the outlines to accent the patterns. Like big poinsettia print that you paint and glitter up. We should do a come back craft of those so much fun!

I have been thinking for the longest time that i wanted to do some projects over fabric and i didn't know if there was any glue for fabric, now I'm so happy! I have beautiful napkins i have brought from my country and I'm ready to start. My only question is, how do you do when the fabric is a dark color? Would you recommend me any kind of white paint or white marker to paint the part of the fabric, so as to make the design of the napkin pop up? Even over denim i think the blue color will make the napkin design, as it is very thin, fade away. Thank you for this wonderful video! I'm like... overjoyed!!!

I'm sure you could apply a layer of fabric paint (or use acrylic paint with fabric medium) underneath the Mod Podge Fabric and have it work and give you a different color base for your image, since the Mod Podge is basically a glue.
