Have you noticed how the embroideries on mirabels dress represent the love for her family? Every embroidery stands for each one of her family members. Animals for Antonio, a rainbow and sun for Pepa, flowers for Isabela, a candle for Abuela, there’s a healing hand on there for her mom, a camelion for Camilo, a weight for Luisa and there’s an ear for Dolores.

Why would a teacher do that? I'm a teacher now, and I can't find a reason why a teacher would discourage someone from doodling. I love grading papers that have doodles all over. Some of them are really cool, and I even comment on how much I like their drawings/doodles. I also try to write the grade in the little blank spaces they leave so I don't ruin their doodles.

@@Nickilob2006 I once had that too, we had like 30 minutes left for the test but weren’t allowed to leave so I just started drawing on the back of my second paper (it was empty) until it was full then I switched to the front where it was empty and filled that up as well (with a little note at the bottom to turn the page for more)

Let us in" I'm crying 😭 this movie is so good 🥺 anyway I relate a lot with Bruno and Luisa, I struggle to explain myself to others, even if my intentions are good I often feel misunderstood, and like just "existing" is not enough to be "worthy", so I'm always overdoing, because if I'm not useful, what am I for?

Hey Amanda!! Just wanted to say that YES, Mirabel _does_ sew her own dress and bag. In the beginning of the movie you can see Mirabel taking her dress of the seeing machine and wearing it :)

I love how you figured out the alternative color when you felt that the black ink didn’t go well with the theme! It’s one thing to notice when things don’t match, but to come up with a whole new way as solution is another challenge🥰❤️❤️

this movie means a lot to me as a latina, it’s also just an overall fantastic movie with amazing characters, beautiful imagery, and a really meaningful message. this theme is incredible and it makes me hope next years doodle planner has a similar one (although i know copyright stuff can make that difficult lol). amazing job as always amanda!

Oh man this was so nice it watch, it really looks like Mirabel might've been embellishing your notebook. Also, Encanto is such a beautiful and emotional movie and it hit me in the feels big time. I bawled almost the whole movie the first time and cried at the end the second because this was such a well done depiction of a family. More than a little dysfunctional, but a loving family.

I watched the movie twice with my twin sister. It’s just wonderful and the music is catchy. Also my favourite characters are Dolores and Bruno. Isabela is also interesting, I struggled with her first, but now I think that she is well made by the producers. 🌸🌺🌼

Since you asked, I relate to Abuela the most. Simply because I was left with raising two children on my own and have always had to remain strong for my kids and keep it together for them. I had years of PTSD from the quickness my marriage ended (in 1 day), and felt I needed to expect my kids to rely on their gifts to help me through life, which was unfair to them. I have learned so much being on my own. As time goes on, know I was a cocoon and am now a butterfly. 🦋

I never enjoyed coloured pencils until I got a soft white pencil/ burnish pencil and went over everything with it. It really helps blend the colours together and gets rid of that grainy look. You just lay down your colours (don't press very hard) then go over with a heavy hand with the white. A great set is the Derwent Inktense pencils set :)

Fun fact for you Amanda, to do with the little patterns etc on Mirabels dress, she actually had a little representation of everyone's powers on her dress... The butterfly on her dress represents that she is the candle, she is the one that brings everyone back together & gives everyone a miracle, just like the candle, the candle also has a butterfly on it as well

New here, have been binge watching Amanda’s videos for the past month, even tho I do not bullet journal myself. When I saw this videos title, I screamed from excitment, and have been rewatching this video a lot since then 😁

Love, love, love this. The music from Encanto is infectious and hard to get out of my head. As for the characters I relate best to, I think Bruno is the closest, but I also relate to Maribel. 🌸
