My monthly spread used to be 100% functional, rarely would I use stickers except to mark a few birthdays. But these past few months I’m trying to play with it more and make it slightly more decorative but also still keep it functional to use (I definitely can’t be a full decorative planner lol) I’m also still working out what exactly I want to use my monthly pages for since I used to add everything but now I’m only adding main appointments.

I use monthly pages for holidays, birthdays, kids school, and travel/visitors. No kits, but I do use decorative stickers for all those days and washi for visitors. But I don’t know how Black Friday is going to be with Covid! I might shop early for gifts and try to be done shopping and wrapping by that Sunday. Then Black Friday deals for meeee. Yeah, girl! With your carts! Lol

No sticker kits for me for weekly or monthly. I mix and match all my stickers. I keep my monthly very basic as an overview of the month. When plans are made, first they're on a sticky note on my monthly. When I get home, I put it on a sticker. Then when I made it to that week, it goes onto the weekly spread. I also track bills and paydays on my monthly. I rarely use that column down the side though. Can't figure out how to use it! My one goal...That's a tough one! I like your one goal! I tried to do a no buy for September and failed miserably (or spectacularly depending on your viewpoint!) I think my one goal is to keep up with my social media planner. I've just started it and want to make sure it becomes a regular thing for me. 💜

I like to think of my monthly as kind of a "zoomed out" view. I try to look at it to remember what's coming in the next few weeks. I typically only put things on it that are not in my usual weekly repeating schedule. For example, I'm in grad school right now, and I put assignments in my monthly view, but don't mark the classes I have every week. However, I do mark time off school because that's a change to my regular schedule that I need to be aware of.

Thanks so much. I feel like so many light bulbs went off in my head because of you. Im totally going to have to implement this. I can't wait to see how big of a difference this will make if I only write down the things that don't repeat.

I do use kits for my monthly layouts. Some times I put bills and important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc. and I’ve tried daily gratitude and memory keeping. I want to be consistent next year so have to figure out what I like best 🤪

That's a great idea and tip! Im in the same boat friend. Ideally I would love to be consistent 😂 but you know how that goes.

I’ve been really trying to use my monthly layout as a big-picture overview and that’s been working for the last few months! This holiday season I want to have all of my shopping done by mid-December so I’m not doing any last minute rushing around. 🙃🥴

That monthly sticker kit is just SO beautiful!! Thank you for the shoutout -- I use my monthly differently from month to month. I also have the same struggle between decorative and not!

Phrasing your monthly goal as a way to serve others 😍 I love that mindset. I use my monthly the same as you - to record appointments and get a pulse check of how “busy” things are. Function > beauty. I have never bought a sticker kit before 😱 for a monthly OR weekly.

Yeah Im learning I can have beauty everywhere else but my monthly 😂. Im sure you save sooo much money on not buying stickers kits!

Love this kit. My goal is the same as yours. I just got 2 boxes from EC and I have a Planner Kate order on the way. Other than the winter surprise box I don’t want to buy any planner supplies until Black Friday.

i am SO bad about using my monthly calendars. if i'm training for a race, i'm great! i will use the monthly layout to write out my training plan so i can see it at a glance with my work schedule (so i can plan runs before or after work more easily). but this year with no races on the calendar.... it's been a real struggle to use the monthly spreads for anything. last month i did write in the 'big' events (dentist appt, volunteer shifts at the shelter, that one night we went out to dinner haha). it looks very sparse but at least it was something. your spread is so cute!!

Listen I rather it be sparse and functional than not used at all. I LOVE the idea of using it for race training, maybe I should try and consider using it for working out. How many races do you usually run each year?

@@DarianPlans usually 2-3 big ones, one in the spring and then 1-2 in the fall. and for a half marathon or marathon it's 12-18 weeks of training. i actually used it for non-running-related working out in august, and that turned out pretty well too! that way i knew at a glance which days i planned to strength train, which days for cardio, etc.

Okay I’m most certainly convinced I need to try this (the workout scheduling on the monthly not the marathon training lol) Do you have a favorite race you enjoy running?
