****** ABOUT THIS VIDEO ******
Hey guys! It's up late but IT IS UP!!!!! I filmed this last weekend but the more I watched it the more I hated it. I re-filmed it on Thursday and the editing was crazy. I finally have my mini movie up and running. This video is SOOOOOOO long and I am terribly sorry about that. I will have to find a new way to talk about my lessons because I doubt that many of you want to hear me ramble for an hour.
Any who. In this video I am planning a project based learning unit for Earth week. I go through my entire process of how I plan for the unit and give you tips along the way to organize and plan for your own PBL unit.

Thanks for doing this video. I am in the middle of muddling through making the transition of just doing projects in my classroom to doing PBL the right way and this was a big help. You really helped me be able to apply what I've been reading about PBL to actual practice. I'm teaching a new grade level this year and have been procrastinating on planning because it just seemed so overwhelming and now I'm excited to get going on it. Thank you again!

Great video! I teach Social Sciences research to Master's students and found this incredibly helpful for planning our PBL for the semester. I almost fell off my chair when I heard the reminder at the end of the video that you are planning for kindergartners. Blown away by what kids that age are doing these days! Thanks for your efforts both in the classroom & in sharing with other teachers!

I've worked with traditional schools until last year (2021) In Latinamerica, schools usually do not work like this, so PBL has been a challenge. Your video has helped incredibly. Thank you so much! Best regards from HN

WOW!!!! This was such an informative video! I love the way you planned for PBL, especially how many different resources you pulled out. Also to see how you transferred your unit planning into planbook was really helpful. You've done an awesome job at integrating your students learning, offering the students a lot of choices for how they learn/present their info which is customised to them. Would really love to see another Plan with me video when you have time. Thanks again :) :) :)

Where do I begin?! Saying that I love your channel is a understatement. This past school year was my first year as a teacher assistant, which has now motivated me to go back to school to become a teacher! This upcoming fall I start my long 5 year journey to become a elementary educator! (BTW I've been out of school for 10 years! OMG) anyway I just loved this video I am kind of jumping the gun trying to learn about lesson planning but I enjoy it and this video just blew my mind. I am so excited to see how your channel is going to be now that you are going to 4th grade! Please keep doing this you are helping me sooooo much! :) I understand teachers are busy though! Thank you again ~ Tasha

This is awesome! While my kiddos are on the older end of the spectrum (middle school!), this was still really helpful for me to see your thought process on PBL. We're starting to implement a STEAM model in my school, and PBL is a huge part of that - and something that I NEED to work on in my own teaching! I think this will be hugely helpful for me this summer as I work on training as a STEAM Lead Teacher for the Fine Arts department!

Hi :) Thanks for that interesting video. Do you do all your planning on your computer? I remember a planning video of you doing Valentine's Week in your teacher planner ... Do you always do both? Do you print these plans and check them off, when you have tought it? Sarah
@BridgingLiteracy
@BridgingLiteracy 8 жыл бұрын
+S88PD06 Hey Sarah! So I am always changing things up. I am trying to start using Planbook.com because it is so easy to plan with and I like being able to pull it up on my phone or really anywhere. Now, I use my computer to plan and then as the week goes on I writ it in my planner. So on Sunday night I look at the day and do a quick write of what I am doing on Monday. The on Monday after school I do the same for Tuesday. So in case we need to review more or focus on a topic for a little longer I can make that adjustment in my planner and go off of that throughout the school week. I hope that makes sense.

+The Lettered Classroom I work in a British school here so although our kids are mainly local kids (apart from staff children) we teach them exactly the same (curriculum wise) as we would at home. (I am Canadian). I use the same language, teach the same concepts and do the same activities as I would if I was at home. It's all on par with a Canadian curriculum. Not all schools are like this, and I do at times run into language barrier issues. For earth day we do exactly the same as at home as well. This year we talked about things we can do to help save our earth. They are quite aware - saying things like 'use less water' 'recycle materials' ' don't litter' etc. All that being said there are definite cultural differences that make being here neat. The holidays they celebrate and lingo I've learned while being here for one, it's definitely a cool experience. I have two kids of my own who are growing up here too - 6 and 4! Definitely a different childhood than my own. Thanks for asking!

+susanne marti to be honest I am not sure. My school set up our accounts for us one year so I never had to do it myself. I did look into it for you and it seems you need a passcode to set up an account and that has to be obtained from your administrator. I would have them look into it! It gives you amazing pictures, videos, articles. It is seriously amazing!
