This was me in 2007 when I entered into college! People thought I was lying when I told them that I got paid to go to school! Paid off my 1st car, took vacations, paid up my rent for a few months at a time, ALL with my refund checks! Hahaha!

I’m about to transfer to a 4-year university (I’m in a Community college rn) I was wondering what I could do to make the most of my university experience and your video literally answered my questions! ✨ My goals are to use the entrepreneurship centers to help me build my future business, have a government or nonprofit accountant job by the time I graduate, create content as a hobby, and maintain my mental and physical health😌 Thank you for making this video, it was perfect timing for me😭

Here are a few extra tips to help you make the most of your time at the university: Engage with the Entrepreneurship Center: you're already on this but definitely get involved early, attend workshops, seek mentorship, and collaborate with peers on business ideas. Pursue Internships: Look for opportunities in government agencies or nonprofits to gain relevant experience. Joining professional organizations can also be beneficial & help you network! Content Creation: Dedicate time each week to create & stay consistent! Prioritize Health: Regular exercise, mindfulness practices, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle will help you stay on track. @@makays.corner sorry i'm late but i wanted to add to this as well! if you're in the US and want internships in government sector, look into PCIP and PALACE Acquire. PCIP is for current college students, PALACE is for recent graduates. also look into your local government (on the city or county level) and they'll have internship positions. and if you don't have Handshake already, get it, because it helps so much to find paid and volunteer opportunities, as well as career fairs. all the best!

Don't worry about being 21 and just starting college. It's never too late to pursue your dreams & you are still soo young! Take it one step at a time-research programs, apply for financial aid, and start with a few courses. Your life experiences will only enhance your journey. You've got this!!!

yess maaam I will make more videos on career and that will include networking! In general tho networking is all about building relationships that can help you academically and professionally. Start by joining clubs and organizations related to your interests. Attend events, workshops, and seminars where you can meet people. Don't hesitate to introduce yourself to professors and classmates. Use LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your field and participate in online discussions. Remember, networking is about genuine connections, so be yourself and stay curious

Of course! I will be doing a video dedicated to networking but even without family connections, you can still build a strong network in finance. Start by joining finance-related clubs at your school. Look for internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer opportunities in finance to gain experience and meet people in the industry. Attend finance-related events and workshops in your community or online. Use LinkedIn to connect with professionals and ask them for advice or informational interviews. Don't be afraid to reach out-most people are happy to help someone starting out!

I started with Atomic habits with my financial literacy journey. It is a self development book but it got me thinking about my financial habits! Here are some books: - Get good with money - Rich dad Poor dad (Classic!) - The intelligent investor!!! - The psychology of money (sooo good) - Your money or your life - culture cash - Girls that invest (have not started yet) - the black girl's guide to financial freedom (have not read but heard good reviews) There is soo many books tho! There are technical ones where they get to the point or ones with story I also loveee podcasts: - the personal finance podcast - This is money - brown ambition - the mindset mentor Hope this helps :)
