Every coaster in the game has three types of brakes available: block brakes, trim brakes and friction or magnetic brakes. In this video I'll go over the differences and how to use them to your advantage.
I'll also go over how block brakes can be used to add multiple trains to a coaster, how trims can and should be used sparingly, and how even the flattest sections of track may not always be as flat as you think they are.
Also good stuff to learn more about brakes:
- This video brings up the point to keep station timing in mind. It can be made a lot easier with mid-course brake runs, but the point is still true, and it's something I forgot to mention. If your coaster is short enough, you won't need a mid-course brake run at all.

About Planet Coaster College: PCC is a series of video guides in which I cover many aspects of making realistic and creative parks in Planet Coaster. One of my goals with the series is to make a video explaining each of the coaster types avaliable and show you how to build them, but there will also be some videos about elements of theme parks and the game in general, such as buildings and scenery. Overall, the series is directed toward already seasoned players of the games, though I do sprinkle tips that may be useful for beginners too.
