Thanks and that sounds like a good tutorial idea! Just a couple tips though.. You should always train and give salary raises to the staff that are "busy" in the park as opposed to the staff who aren't. I would always train the mechanics and janitors and pay them accordingly because they are way more efficient at their jobs when doing so. For instance.. a trained mechanic will inspect, refurbish, and fix broken rides way faster and can also cover more ground than an untrained mechanic. For both the mechanics and janitors, the Work Roster is their best friend. Without the Work Rosters.. they will just wander around the park until they are randomly "programmed" to go do something that needs to be done. One highly skilled mechanic can maintain up to 4-6 rides all set to 20 minute inspections (with a Work Roster) and basically do the job better than 3 untrained mechanics programmed for the same rides. The untrained ones take considerably longer to do everything, including janitors just emptying the trash bins or sweeping up vomit/litter. As for the vendors, you don't have to train the ones who barely get any business in your park as they will eventually quit anyways with being "bored" and saying "I wish I had more to do." This mostly means that the shop has other problems usually due to location in the park other than just the staff wanting to be trained. For example, say you have a Chief Beef and a Hat's Fantastic. The Chief Beef is booming with a line all the time and the Hat's Fantastic can't sell a hat even if you're only charging .50 cents. Then eventually, the Hat's Fantastic vendor will quit whether he/she's trained or not. Also you can get away without training a vendor at all as long as they're busy and you keep an eye out for them complaining about their pay. In short always train your "busy" vendors as they will sell items faster and keep the line moving... and relocate, or add more attractions/rides around the failing shops. Thanks Colin that is a big help. It would be nice if the work rosters were as easy to set up as in RCT, it is kind of clunky the way they are put together and "displayed." I saw a little of that as I finished this video today. Your advice on why vendors get unhappy and quit makes a lot of sense - I thought it was the opposite, that they quit because they were too busy. Yes, I've tried that. The problem is, people won't pay enough money to get into the park to maintain the 2 rides operating costs and a mechanic's salary. For example, this early in game, charging say $10 at the gate for a "family" will net you considerably less money as opposed to charging $7 a person every time a "family" goes on the Carousel, since they are more than likely to ride more than once. The people that come in and don't spend money or go on a ride, aren't "programmed" to want to ride those particular rides. They are the same people that will just complain and won't even pay .50 cents to enter the park. I've tried juggling numerous different park entrance fees.. and it never comes close to evening out the maintenance costs of the two rides. Hope that makes sense. As for the scenery and as I said in the video, yes you can get away with just spamming tons of rocks or bushes, but you might as well just place some speakers and lights instead because it will be around the same amount of money anyways.. and the former is just boring.. as you already stated.
